Sounds like decisions are coming for ED this Friday.
Where did you get that info from?
Bottom right corner here says mid-December.
yea and the websites say by december 15th. I cant find any info about friday
I realize that ED is new this year, but does anyone know how USC has typically handled notifications in the past? Do they post the release time in advance on social media or through email? It’s been super quiet, which is hard with so many other schools releasing their decisions!
Not sure about Marshall, but USC admissions usually posts on social media.
Hopefully they surprise us tonight.
Change admissions plan button disappeared.
they’re out there
Deferred
My son was deferred as well.
My son deferred too
Do you mind sharing general stats? Very curious being the first ED year. I have a daughter at Marshall and one that will be applying next year. Good luck being admitted RD.
3.8/4.2 GPA, Strong extracuriculars, varsity sports, team captain, mentor, lifeguard, legacy (brother, father, grandfather), honors and two college classes, but did not start APs until this year, so lacking rigor, and test optional.
Wow - I mistakenly thought it would be a lot “easier” getting in ED this year. I’m surprised, especially given his legacy status. Thanks for sharing and best of luck to him getting in RD. I know the waiting is tough.
4.1 GPA. 4 Dual Enrollments, 6 APs (4 current year, 2 last year w/ 5 and 4 scores). Test optional. Decent EC’s, including strong part-time job applicable to major.
It could be easier for some and not for others. I think there are so many legacies, and they can’t admit them all, unfortunately. I know two students who had weighted GPAs lower than a 4.0 and no test scores who got in. It is hard to guess what goes on in the reading room/committee, etc. There are institutional priorities, too. I think USC caters to full-pay and has connections with some high schools but not others. It is life.
My son is ~4.0 weighted GPA (not sure of the exact calculation because he took two classes outside his HS). 1 AP junior year (scored 4) and 4 senior year including 3 relevant to business (AP Micro, Macro, and Stats). Submitted SAT 710R/720M. Competitive athletics, student government, some work/volunteering. Good luck to everyone facing the deferral wait with us!
