thank you so much it’s about one of the only schools I felt a connection with. wishing you the best of luck!
Congrats.
Please share some stats & intended major, so it is helpful to others in next cycle.
Congrats! My DS was deferred.
Deferred, and submitted the form lol
4.0/4.6 1480 SAT
Sure I applied for mechanical engineering and I have a 4.0, 1540, and 12 APs (including Physics C Calc BC). I got 4 5’s and 2 4’s. My application was split halfway between school activities (all exec positions) and outside activities (passion project, volunteering, and work). I think my essays sealed the deal though I poured my heart into them
My DS got deferred. 3.96 GPA, full rigor finished including calc bc. 34 ACT. Lot of extra curricular activities
DD deferred for Cognitive science. 3.9 uw, 4.2 w
The competition is real! Our D26 was deferred, 3.98/4.5, 8 APs, officer in national club, varsity athlete, 1390 SAT with 740 verbal, applied for History, legacy applicant. However, we respect the process and will see what happens in the RD round.
My son was accepted tonight. So happy for him. USC is such a great school.
He has a 4.0, 1520. 5s on his AP tests. Really good ECs. All-state/ national qualifier sports (though not recruited at USC), 3 year captain, lots of cultural, volunteering and social justice leadership (president, co-founder) over years, student rep on school board for last two years.
congrats to anyone accepted and good luck to those waiting.
Daughter got deferred too.
| 4.0 UW, 4.3 Weighted, 10 APs, 1560 SAT, NMSF deferred for Cognitive Science. |

Oh and I was NMSF. I think USC likes to see that lol
D just got accepted EA for Bio. 4.0 UW, Act 35, NMSF, 10 APs with 5s, leadership ECs, sport (team captain), medical volunteering. Feel sorry for kids these days having to jump through so many hoops for college apps.
So, the next release is regular decision? Do we know when they’ll hear?
I think it may be March
Son deferred for engineering. 3.9UW/4.4W, 1520 SAT, 10 APs (inc Phys C, Chem, BC) all 5s + Calc 3. Major creative ECs. Professional certifications in major.
DS deferred from Marshall. 3.9UW, high rigor, 9 APs (I think), 1530 SAT/34 ACT. Good (varsity sports, volunteer, job, club leadership) ECs…but suppose not “extra”. Disappointed but also impressed w the level of kids both getting in as well as getting deferred.
I’m seeing kids with perfect stats like yours getting deferred and it just seems so crazy to me.
I find the numbers astonishing. Many great candidates are being deferred to RD, and it becomes a test of patience for them. We respect the process and congratulate those admitted, and look forward to another set of decisions in March.
