USC Class of 2030 — Regular & Early Action Decisions

USC denies approximately 4,000 or more

applicants with perfect 4.0 unweighted GPA and test scores in the 99 percentile each year. Not defers, but denies. Part of this is also due to them being more holistic in approach as well of course. 4.0 students are everywhere, an interesting applicant that will add value to the campus is more unique.

My son was accepted and we are so excited! It’s his first choice and we fully expected a deferral in ea. his stats are what you would expect. Basically perfect grades , lots of rigor, lots of APs and his EC were very fit to major ( poli sci). We went back and forth over whether to submit his SAT which was a 1440 and not quite as high as would be expected given his academics so we ultimately decided to go test optional and we were especially surprised to be admitted TO. We are in NY and he attends a big competitive high school.

Hi all, is there a current thread for stats and decisions only? There have been threads in the past up until 2020 (class of 2024) and I was wondering if there is one for this year (class of 2030) as well? Anyone have info on World Bachelor Business decisions as well? It seems they come out anywhere from late January to late April so I wanted to hear how it is like.

You’re in the right place. This is the thread for the information you’re looking for.

any chance scholarship notices will go out earlier this week or is 1/30 a solid date? TY

Scholarships are out now.

Curious to know the stats of anyone who got a merit scholarship today. This is the first school my D got admitted to where she did not get a scholarship. Is it because she is NMSF and they assume she will be NMF and will qualify for the 20K annual scholarship?

Thank you. $0 here. Oh well, now we figure it out and try to make it work. Congrats to those who received!

EA deferred, got an email asking for mid-year report. Meaning are the chances of getting acceptance high?

My son got the email as well. I guess it was sent to everyone.

When my S24 applied to USC, the NMF scholarship was half tuition, but I understand it’s been decreased to $20,000. Does anyone know whether the NMF scholarship recipients are eligible to live in McCarthy? They were previously eligible as it was the equivalent of the Presidential Scholarship, but I think that’s changed along with the decrease in the award.

Hello! I am applying as a transfer student in the fall of 2026 and was wondering you could give me feedback on my essays?

DM you.

Does anyone have a general idea of when the RD decisions will be released?

I believe based on history, it won’t be until 3/25…

My S24 received his decision on 3/22/24, so I’m hoping for 3/20, but I think it might be later.

Will likely be 3/20. They usually put out a post on official date a week to 2 weeks prior.

EA deferred, Just got an email the usc wants to see parents taxes and to allow them to check taxes through the irs website. I called, it’s legit, but i wonder if they are actually considering admittance at this point.

I suspect they are considering admittance. Curious, what does your USC Fast financial aid portal show? Ours still says “Application in Review”. During ED, this status didn’t change and still hasn’t after being deferred to RD. I think we’re toast.

Did you submit the FASFA, which asked your permission to pull tax return from IRS? I remembered something like that.
