<p>Calcruzer - I really think I will end up at Cal. But, having said that, I’m not ready to call USC and say “You can stop reviewing my file now, I’ve decided to go somewhere else.” 1) Because I might not like Cal as much as I think I will after taking summer classes there, and I still want to option of potentially going to USC, and 2) I just have to know if they’re going to accept me. A 6-year dream is not so easy to brush off, you know? In addition, regarding your son: seeing as though he applied to Marshall, and I applied to Annenberg, I don’t think I would be taking his “spot” per se. I don’t think that’s how the school works? </p>
<p>My next point is, okay, what if I’m potentially taking away a “spot” for an Annenberg applicant? I don’t think that can really happen, because I got requested for spring grades, and most applicants will probably get a decision the week of June 1st. By the time my school sends my spring grades, it will be a good month from now, so my decision will be made separately. </p>
<p>I really hope your son gets into USC, as I hope all of us get in, but I hope he gets in even more than most of us. If it could be guaranteed, I could call USC and say they can stop reviewing my application provided your son, Woman of Troy, a la idioteque and the rest who have nowhere else to go get accepted. As for the rest of us, yes, I also REALLY hope we get in, but at least we have options, even if those options are not necessarily what we had in mind.</p>
