My status has not changed on the Oasis page so I wont try to log on to the commitment page until I call and they tell me they sent out the decision. They log that page and I don’t want to do any funny business, this late in the game.

My stats are :

applied to Marshall Business

gpa 3.86
pre-reqs were done by spring semester.
ge mostly done

and this spring i took two : 1 eng and 1 history

and i got C in the eng and A in the hist

that’s why i was so worring aoubt my decision.

Son’s letter came–rejection, as expected.

Dear XXX,

We have completed our review of your application and, unfortunately, are not able to offer you a space in this year’s entering class.

Admission was significantly more competitive this year. The interest in USC was overwhelming, which meant that we were unable to accommodate thousands of very strong candidates; including students with excellent academic records, remarkable talents, and facinating experiences. It may or may not comfort you to know that this has been an extraordinarily difficult year for our staff because none of us enjoys turning away capable students.

Although numbers don’t tell the whole story, you may find them helpful as you seek to understand our decision. This year, we received more than 8,200 transfer applications from students all around the world. In order to enroll an incoming class of 1,400 transfers, we offered admission to roughly 2,000 students. In other words, we had to turn away about 75% of the students who wanted to enroll. The enclosed information sheet provides further details about the review process, and the transfer class.

Thank you for considering USC. We encourage you to press on in your pursuit of higher education and we wish you all the best in your future endeavors.

Sincerely,

Timothy Brunold
Associate Dean and Director
Undergraduate Admissions

Good luck to the everybody and here’s hoping you don’t get the letter above.

So it looks like Marshall is starting to review its applications, hopefully the rest will follow suit.

Today I check my status.
My status said that we are unable to process~~~
so I call to USC they said that I can get mail today or tomorrow.
I am so nervous…
Does anyone same as my situation?

yj8292, did you check the commitment page and what are you stats?

My status said that We are unable to process the status of your application at this time. Please try again later, or Contact Us with any questions or concerns you might have.
It is just update it now.

yj8292, what about your stats and commitment page?

I try it, but I can not log into that site.
Do I need it to wait?
or is it problem?
I am so worry about it.
I think that I need to wait until letter from USC.
I can get mail today or tomorrow.

I feel left out. I want an update!!!

It could mean anything at this point. I called them again and they said that they will make a decision by this weekend but when I called in the morning they said they would make a decision today. I think that your status should change to a decision has been made in order for them to have really made a decision. Something tells me they still haven’t made a decision on your application. Once the status changes, try the commitment page again. They might have given you the wrong information over the phone because that clearly happened to me today.

i got in!!! anyone know whe the deposit has to be in and when i will receive my fin aid?? Thanks!

wh112988, how did you find out and what did you status page say on oasis?

Congrats wh112988!!!

You’re supposed to turn in the deposit within 2 weeks of receiving your acceptance pkg.

congrats to all those that got in!
I myself still have the unable to process message, so
the wait will continue for another day it seems.

I just emailed them and they told me they just got my spring grades and then a day later an express package was in the mail and i was in. and nah, my oasis thing still says my app is being forwarded to the committee. anybody know when the financial aid package comes in?

Congrats to all those who were accepted today!
The financial aid package comes in a few days. For me, literally three. For the rest of you, hang in there!

I called my regional counselor. She asked me online status of my application.

I answered my status has been still “we have your spring grades…”, and

then she said that USC will mail final decision by mid-july. Also, i asked her

about that someone was told by USC USC will make final decisions by this

weekend; she said it is not true.

I guess USC has not begun reviewing my application yet even though i do not know it is a good sign or not

^^^

I think the person who said that a final decision would be made by this weekend was referring to their own application.

Your counselor may have misunderstood the question, thinking that you were told that everyone would have a final decision by the weekend, which of course is not likely.

I am new to this post. I have called and asked today. The admission rep said there has been no decision made yet.

Does anyone know the process of making a decision based on spring grade requests? Is it to ensure progress or what? I received a 4.0 in spring with 19 units, but I don’t know if this will carry any meaningful weight. Any thoughts?
