the same u can do with a business degree

well basically if you can’t login to the commitment deposit site don’t freak out. I got home today and after my boyfriend and best friend had hung out at my house for a bit my parents called us into the living room and gave me my acceptance package and a cake with my old usc id card (from a summer course i took there) on it. it is a beautiful package i am ecstatic and ready to start the process. best of luck to everyone!!!

Congrats scarlet!

I got in too but for my second major choice Economics. They said they’re still reviewing my file for my intending major, Business Administration. I am ecstatic as well but at the same time kind of bummed out.

jab_626,

I advise people on this website all the time on majors and career choices, and while I usually suggest a business major or engineering major as a first choice, Economics would run next, along with the sciences. According to Forbes’ latest ranking of “most lucrative majors”, Economics ranks second, right behind Computer Engineering.

A discussion thread on this on collegeconfidential on this may be found here:

The first choice major, however, should always be in a career in which you will be happy. That is the single most important thing–because people will do best in whatever it is they enjoy–and because most people will be working in their chosen field for quite awhile–sometimes 30 years or more.

P.S. Congratulations to all those getting acceptances–and good luck to the rest of you still waiting for notice.

jab_626: You DO realize that you can switch majors with no problem if you do well your first semster and reapply, right? Or if you wish to do it sooner, you can fill out a change of major request form at Orientation and they wil re-review your file and let you know by lunchtime. It’s no big deal once you are actually admitted to the university so long as you have the requirements complete and you’ve performed well.

AHHHHHH! This is so agonizing! I keep going back and forth between feeling like I will get accepted and feeling like I will get rejected. Unfortunately, as the day’s progress I’m leaning more towards the rejection side…:(

So in my never-ending compulsion for this process I called the admissions office to inquire about the status of my application and received the standard, “The file is complete. Decisions will be finalized this week and next. The file is under review though.” That’s all the info that the admissions rep seemed to want to give. I felt it was kind of an awkward conversation.

hippo50, I am in the same emotional. I don’t know what to think/feel anymore.

The day’s until this decision arrives will seem like weeks. If I get in it’s totally worth it though.

remember guys post stats here http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/transfer-students/513075-official-usc-transfer-decisions-2008-stats-only-3.html

really WoT, you can switch from econ->business after 1 sem? nice!

I have confirmation that if you do not hear this week that it will most likely result in a spring admission or rejection.

Yeah I feel that the application process ends (for some) too close to orientation and too far into summer break.

My status FINALLY changed to “we are unable to process”

I’m freaking out.

Im going to give USC somewhat the benefit of doubt. Here is why. In the Oasis screen of received documents, there were two lines stating “document received, not barcoded” now it says grade report. I contacted the admissions office, and they said my spring grades were finally processed today for review. I would check out the documents page to see if anyone else is undergoing the same thing. I also asked firmly if I didn’t receive an admissions decision by this week, if it entails a rejection, they said No.

Mine is still the same…boooooooo!

Any fellow bio dorks???

Do you guys think it would be worth it to transfer to USC w\junior status, if I am offered spring admission–considering I only need 27 credits to graduate at my current school?

Depends on what school and where you intend to work.

Burger -

I’m technically a Psych major, but I have enough stuff to be a “BIO dork” too. My second major was Pre-med or Pre-dental. If I were you, I’d finish off at USC. You gotta love that Trojan pride.
