I’ve been to international student orientation.
It was a nice experience. The included packet included my orders of t-shirts, lots of paper work and one huge school catalogue!

It started out with a video presentation/welcome/speech.
Nice crowd, with lots of people. Even non-international students too.
There’s also a school tour, snacks and drinks, lunch.
You will be divided into groups by major for your own school briefing and counseling.
You will also be divided into small orientation groups.
My group leader was a nice chap and help answer a lot of our more student oriented concerns. I even got a postcard from him after orientation.
You will get a 15% discount at the school bookstore. I totally burned $200 that day.
Remember to wear some nice walking footwear, we had to walk from here, to there, to here, to everywhere… Maybe I’m just a lazy person…
People I met there were pretty cool too. Don’t be worried to talk to new people, I even got to know some Mom’s and Dad’s there.
I also got to register for classes that day. I have to say, most of the classes were filled but they open more spaces for us. Nice!

It still better to go to USC.
It’s network is so much bigger then LMU.

Also, it’s not impossible to get into Marshall after you enter USC. Unlike the UC’s, you can still change your major in USC. It’s a private school, no stupid restrictions.

During my orientation, I saw some students wanted to change majors and the counsler helped them with their request. But I’m not sure they did get into their major, at least USC can do something to accomodate.

cheeseburger08–Yeah they told me that yesterday. Then I emailed my counselor and she said a decision had been made. THey won’t release it though.
