hey georgia girl i had a question about bid signing day, and payments. a friend from uci told me that at her sorority, they required $1,000 down before the girls were allowed to accept their bids. is this how it is at 'sc, or is there a grace period before the first payment?

It is a good idea to read through the recruitment guide on the Panhellenic site. Request the cost sheet for each of the ten chapters. The costs do vary. Have a frank discussion with your parents about the fees involved before you register. Look at the chapter websites and read about the histories, philanthropies, goals, accomplishments and events held by each group.

If you do the above and feel you can balance academic requirements and social activities, then sign up. In my opinion it is better to register earlier in the summer. If there are any Panhellenic workshops/receptions in your area try to attend these. You will receive much information and helpful tips about the process.

Amy,
The Panhellenic representative informed me a potential new member must request the cost sheets from the Panhellenic office. Posted on the site is a range of costs. Fees differ.
The office number is: 213 740 2080. You can phone during business hours PT. The website is: [University of Southern California Panhellenic](http://www.uscpanhellenic.com) .

I didn’t know that the rush events were so late in the day/night. What are you supposed to wear to the events? do they have set days like “sundress” or “shorts” etc.? Is it still hot at nighttime?

yikes so i called the number and they said all the individual people that know the fees for the sororities are out for the summer. should i just e-mail each one? and where on the site can i find the range of costs?

The sorority “parties” are scheduled later on in the day in order to avoid conflicts with class schedules.
On the Panhellenic website click on Recruitment. The recruitment guide can be accessed. On the guide are photos of women in outfits they have selected from their own wardrobes. Each day has a guide for attire.
Late August can be hot, but the chapter houses are air conditioned.
