USC Housing Assignement

Just thought that I would create a thread for people entering USC for the Fall 2012 to talk about housing. Where were you guys assigned? Did you guys get your first choice?

Pardee! It wasnt my first choice (birnkrat was). I could have received it, but because I wanted a specific roommate and he wasn’t qualified, they gave me my next highest choice! I was happy with it and with my roommate!

Also got Pardee!!:))

what floor!

Marks hall. Wise community. :)

pardee! 6th floor :)

I didn’t get my housing assignment yet, but I’m hoping for Birnkrat. I’m so nervous about my roommate though. I hope that I get along with my roommate.

Boomboom, Pardee 8th floor!

is Pardee a big party dorm? i heard the walls are not soundproof lol

Nearly not as much as New/North and underage drinking in a dorm room with a bunch of experimenting freshmen isn’t exactly what you call a party. However, there will be people who wanna go out at night and people who want to stay in their room to study.

for any applicants that were admitted through appeal did you guys get your housing assignment yet??

I think that assignments for some appeal students came out (mines did) did any other appeal students assignment come out??

I got my housing, and i got in through appeal. I got placed in Webb Tower. I don’t know to be happy or dissapointed. I was hoping for Pardee, but I think us appealers are out of luck, cuz we naturally couldn’t apply for housing untill later than everyone else. Does anyone know anything about Webb? hopefully it’s social? I heard its for upperclassmen/freshmen

Webb used to be for sophomores and up but it was recently changed to Freshman housing. Basically, it suffers from the same problem as suite style housing, as you have bedrooms within apartments rather than traditional style dorms consisting of a hallway with rooms. It is less social because of this and to make matters worse, there are only 8 apartments on a floor and not all of them are 4 person apartments. Don’t get me wrong, its not bad place to live, its really nice having a living room/kitchen but if you’re looking for a social experience, traditional dorm style housing is better. I believe that this is the first year for freshman housing there so they may try to improve the social experience but it all really depends on the residents/RA. In addition, most freshmen want to make friends and are generally really friendly when they arrive for their first semester. Granted, it suffers from certain problems due to the nature of the layout (another one is the elevator stopping on every floor even if it is full in the morning).

I see, I faxed my reassignment on the day of my housing assignment, but do you know any chances of getting reassigned to a residence hall? I believe that it’s first come first serve for reassignments as well, but typically do students get reassigned when they request it?

Hello,
I was a transfer student last year and would highly recommend this housing: [Ready to Find Housing at USC?](http://usc-housing.com/)

Check out the link and email me if you are interested in more information!

I’ve been reassigned from A&H to Pardee, and am trying to reassign again into Birnkrant. If anyone is interested in switching, please let me know! (:
