USC Major/Minor help...

I’m working through my USC app right now, and I know I want to major in Philosophy, Politics and Law with a minor (mini-major) in Economics. Is that a possible combination? The website says the following:

Would my combination fall foul of the single department rule? Thanks.

So does anybody know?

As Philosophy, Politics and Law and Economics are both in CLAS and not in Marshall, the information for Marshall should not apply to your situation. [Majors and Minors > USC College of Letters, Arts & Sciences](http://college.usc.edu/cf/majors-and-minors/majors-and-minors.cfm?sid=mg3cadko2g1ivcvha012esrj24)

You do not have to declare your minor on your application. You can do so after you begin classes.

Also, CLAS isn’t a “department,” it is a “school” and there are LOTS of departments within it. The restriction would be for something along the lines of majoring in Anthropology and minoring in Visual Anthropology.

(In other words, I see no reason you would not be able to do the combination you propose.)

Thank you. Btw I know you don’t have to declare your minor, but there’s a question asking about your academic interests, and economics is very much one of those in my case, so I thought I’d mention the fact I plan to minor in it (unless you can’t in which case I’d look like an idiot lol). So yeah, thanks, I’ll mention that for sure now.
