USC does not offer a BFA MT program so my daughter is doing it a BA/MT program instead. We’ve heard a variety of views about being a BA not BFA student in the acting and voice program (even though they don’t offer a BFA for MT). Some say if you prove yourself you’ll get the same respect as a BFA student others say it’s so stacked against you that there’s no way to get a full/fair education as a BA student. I’ve heard that you’re a 3rd class citizen after the MFA and BFA students and that those students are cast first (and in advance) leaving only a few small parts for anyone else, others say this is ridiculous.

Anyone have anything to add? Just trying to get as many thoughts as possible before flying out for their accepted student weekend.
