Hey, I’m sorta curious what you think my chances are for these schools. I’m a junior.

I’d like to go to the USC School for Cinematic Arts, NYU Tisch for directing, or Northwestern for journalism.

SAT: (only a practice test, no essay grade) 1880
PSAT: 192
GPA: 3.75 (weighted)

APs: AP Music Theory, AP American History, AP English
Self studying: AP Calculus BC, AP Physics C, AP French, and AP German (just for fun
)

I’m sure I’ll write a good essay, my writing is pretty good I’ve been told and I write a lot.

Recommendations will be really great too.

ECs:

TERM:
-Founder and President of T.E.R.M: The Educational Reform Movement
-I’ve appeared on The TODAY Show and Anderson Cooper 360 on CNN discussing educational reform
-I made the website [url=http://www.termonline.org]T.E.R.M: The Educational Reform Movement/url

Music:
-I score movies
-I play with a band (knaves13.com)
-I compose classical music, which has won awards
-I compose pop music and have my own studio
-I teach the middle school guitar club
-Member of Tri-M for one year
-play guitar
-taught myself violin, bass, drums, and piano. I’m first chair second violin in the orchestra after one year (I guess this is more of a hook than an EC)

Writing:
-Frequently write screenplays
-Write short stories
-Will likely soon be published in a few newspapers

Languages:
-Taught myself two years of French over the summer and entered French III Honors (again, I guess this is a hook)
-Currently teaching myself Norwegian, German, and French

Film:
-Make movies (entering some in film festivals and contests soon)
-score the movies
-write the screenplays for the movies

Science:
-won honorable mention for the DuPont Challenge in 8th grade
-teaching myself AP Calc and Physics

So yeah, let me know what you think. I’m curious if my ECs will make up for my otherwise not so great transcript.
