What kind of food do they serve? Burgers, pizza, pasta, salads?

EVERYTHING…

now, you may want to consider getting the minimal residential food plan possible and add $$ your USCcard to buy food at the numerous cafes on campus.

S**** food. Now, Trojan Plan, on the other hand = God.

Can a student dine anywhere on campus with the card?

My S was on the cheapest plan & it worked OK for him/us. His friend who was on the Trojan plan had to have them help him spend it at the end of every semester as it was tough to eat enough.

The only way to make the Trojan Plan work is to have two people intending to share it from day one. This requires committment, planning and coordination.

I think what wanderlusting is saying is that with the Cardinal or Gold plans, you are tied to the cafeterias most of the time. The food is good, but eating at the same place most of the time will get monotonous no matter how good it is. Just like living at home when you were in high school! With the Trojan Plan, you can eat anywhere you like.

Yeah, no matter what plan you get, you’re going to end up wasting money. End of story. I’m on Cardinal and I have about 85 meals left with the end of the semester, and I’m going to rack up at least 100 meals, I’m sure, which is more than $1000 down the drain. Conversely, I don’t know of a single person with Trojan plan who could eat up all those dining dollars by themselves, but the best part is that at the end of the semester, they just buy boxes and boxes of candy, water, Red Bulls, soda, etc to deplete that money. And they pay for all their friends! Trojan plan just gives you a LOT more flexibility if you can afford it.
