@CollegeStudentTime I think that’s highly unlikely. They’ll just ask you about why you want to be in SCA, what you see yourself doing in five years, etc etc.

I am a junior transfer from a 2 year community college into SCA Film& Television Production. I interviewed in person in the summer and got request for my winter grades 2 weeks ago and for spring grades last week.
Did anyone on this thread apply to SCA as a Screen&Television writing major as their first choice? If so, are you an internal or external transfer, and did you receive an interview?
I’m a bit concerned because on the website for external transfers in both writing and film production it says there are no admissions interviews, but it seems a lot of people are interviewing.
@saderobinsonacts I applied to Screen and Television as second choice. External, and I received an interview for production.
Did anyone receive any word yet?

Hey, what’s up everyone. I applied to USC SCA for Fall 2020, Writing for Television and Film. I’ve been creeping this forum and others for months. It’s been an excruciating wait. I’ve finally caved and jumped in the convo. I put my heart and soul into my USC application and gave the portfolio my best shot. I had excellent extra curriculars as Editor in Chief of our college’s literary magazine, among other clubs. I have a 3.2GPA which has been heavy on my mind for so long, but I had a kick ass last couple years and decided to shoot my shot anyways. I’m a great writer, so I owed it to myself to try. I really appreciate you all for starting this forum. It’s made this process feel less lonely. I didn’t get a call to interview but I didn’t expect to anyways. However, what I did hear is that USC admitted a significant amount more freshman than normal causing their acceptance rate to go up nearly 5%. Which is potentially excellent news for transfers awaiting decisions. I’ve heard from a lot of current students how they may not return in the fall if classes continue online, and know others that if offered admission may defer for a year. This means the admissions committee may consider more transfer than usual. I am holding my breath, wishing with all my might, that this may be in my favor.
But best of luck to you all. You seem like wonderful talents. Hopefully we all get some good news. I’ll post here if I get any news.

I was also pretty worried about my GPA but thankfully I spoke to a few people on campus about my situation and they didn’t seem too worried about it. I think a big part that goes into their consideration is how determined you are/how much you love the school and program. My portfolio to me wasn’t as strong as I would have liked but I really poured my all into my application.
Hopefully we start hearing soon!
@Sammiezee @anotherbun same here. My highschool and college GPA in the Philippines was horrendous, it was like 2.5-2.8ish. Then I joined the military here, then went to community college during my service and right now. My GPA is only around 3.5ish right now (mostly because I can’t get an A on any English classes coz I suck at writing essays).
