Uhhh, I’ve been accepted but my status still says “under review by admissions committee”. And the link for “RSVP for admitted students” doesn’t work.

I received my acceptance today, yahoo!! No mention of scholarship though, do you know if that means I am out of luck with scholarship consideration?

Has anyone else’s status changed to “forwarded for committee review” within the last couple days after the first wave of acceptances went out? is this a good thing?

Mine changed to “Your application has been forwarded for committee review” as well. I would also like to know if this is a good sign.

ya i hope so marmar im dying to know if i got in.

Aww man! I’m still on “reviewed by committee.” ):

WHY, oh WHY does the month of February exist? After this terribly long month of January, we still have 28 days of February to endure before the committee even considers sending us word of their decision (unless, of course, the status is significant and we get notified early). But last year no one was notified in February.

On the bright side at least february is the shortest month of the year :)

^ haha right and we have mid-winter break to ease off the waiting a bit (hopefully)

yep thank god for that february break, gonna miss that break once we’re in college.

Mid-winter break? This is news to me! What is that?

maybe its diff in cali but for us in NY we have our christmas break for about a week and a half, than a week break in mid feb and than another week and a half or so around april during passover.

Mine says this, what does this mean?

For those student who are chosen for the Trustee Scholarship interview, last week the USC scholarship page on their website listed the number of Trustee scholarships as “approx. 150 awards” (I believe)
Now the page lists the number as “approx. 100 awards”
So 50 less than last year…

This is still a large number compared to many/most schools, but receiving the full tuition scholarship will be more challenging this year.

Hi yorkiemom! When my daughter applied in 2007 (for 2008 admission), it was stated as “approximately 100 awards” for Trustee and “approximately 200 awards” for Presidential then as well. It appears there are two Trustee Explore dates and three Presidential Explore dates - same as the last few years, so it seems the number of students being considered is the same. The actual numbers that matriculate vary year-to-year because they do not know how many Trustee and Presidential scholars will choose to attend - those students often are choosing among the best universities in the country. For 2009 132 Trustee Scholarship awardees and 288 Presidential Scholarship awardees chose USC (as well as 232 NMF Presidential Scholarship awardees). http://www.usc.edu/admission/undergraduate/private/0910/FreshmanProfile2009.pdf

Each year it gets a bit more challenging to get those awards, however, because of USC’s rising reputation and selectivity. The applicant pool just gets better and better!

Okay. The mail arrived here in IA with the Trustee Scholarship/Explore letter and information enclosed! The postmark date: 1/28. Arrival: 2/1

Congratulations!

Hey guys I have a question–I applied like back in October (early to mid October). I don’t need the scholarships/didn’t apply for any (though I know I was automatically considered because I applied by the Dec 1st deadline). But if I applied that early, will I hear back earlier? Or will I still have to wait until March? (my stats are definitely not good enough to get any scholarships so I wouldn’t be expecting that or anything). Also, as of last thursday, my application file (according to USC) was complete and my status says that it’s under review by the admissions committee.

My stats aren’t stellar-I have a 3.5 UW GPA but I am doing the IB diploma program. I got a 31 on the ACT.
