My status has always been “We are unable to process the status of your application at this time. Please try again later, or Contact Us with any questions or concerns you might have” since I submitted my application…is this an error with my account or does anyone think it means something? I called awhile ago to make sure they received everything and they did, but I wasn’t told anything concerning my status. Then yesterday I got the letter saying that my application has been through preliminary review.

I haven’t seen anny one with my status, anny ideas of it?

“We have completed a preliminary review of your application. We sometimes request additional information (senior-year grades, for example), so be sure to watch the mail. You may submit senior year grades at www.usc.edu/midyeargrades, even if we did not specifically request them. We are continuing to review applications and expect to mail notification of a decision by April 1st.”

New Status: “We received the fall grades we requested, and require no additional information at this time. We will mail decisions to freshman applicants by April 1st” - Grades submitted online yesterday - that was fast!

huh… I submitted my grades Feb 2, and I’m still on preliminary. But I also didn’t get the letter, so maybe that has something to do with it?

Haha they’re probably just messing with us… Only those who remain sane through the entire process will be offered admission. No, I’m sure it’s more or less random, but it is kind of fun to try to hazard guesses as to what this all means!

Anybody have the same status update trend as mine?

…reviewed by admission committee

preliminary review of application (may ask for fall grades)

forwarded to committee review

My status was updated from preliminary review to:
“We have completed an initial review of your application and would like to see the results of the first term of your senior year (final, not mid-term marks).”

Unfortunately, my school is closed until Feb. 16th due to the East Coast blizzard, so I won’t get my official report card until that week at the earliest. And I got all As in 4 APs, so I really want to submit them. agh.

Just wanted to join in on the status update mayhem, I wasnt forwarded in the committee decisions (nor am I really surprised) just hoping to somehow sneak in with a great EC’s and a pocket full of charisma, submitted my midyears as well hoping to help me out! Good luck all!

doremi144-I also have had the same trend as you: initial admissions review, preliminary review, and now, today, my status changed to forwarded to the committee. I also hope that this is a good sign.

You can self report online now. Then request an official transcript on 2/16. You got such good grades. The adcom will see them online, consider them and confirm them with offical report later.

I meant that I didn’t have all of my grades yet, either. We only had two days after exams (with block scheduling, so four classes a day) and three of my teachers didn’t tell us our final grades, even though I had pretty good ideas…

try emailing them. That worked for me. Plus everyone’s getting a little (lotta) cabin fever, so teachers will be more likely to check their school emails now than say, Saturday.
