USC Status Update

Last year at the EXACT same day 2/15/09, my status said “unable to process.”

It means tomorrow there will most likely be a status change.

do you remember what it was changed to, applewater?

so it has nothing to do w/ acceptance like some other people and i have assumed on cc?

After the “unable to process” status, it changes to, “Your application is being reviewed by the admission committee. We will mail notification of their decision by April 1. If for some reason you don’t receive our written notice, we will be happy to provide the results over the phone beginning April 11th.”
It has nothing to do w/ acceptance

AppleWater, do you remember what happened to applicants who got “prelim” then “forwarded?” I never got the whole “unable to” status…i recently got “forwarded”

What if we never even had the “prelim” status mine went straight from the “Your application is being reviewed by the admission committee.” to “Forwarded for committee review”

My status wasnt one of the forwarded to prelim committee status but mine also changed to “unable to process” fingers crossed and praying to God!

Last year, there was no “forwarded” status. It just went from “preliminary” to "your application is being reviewed by the admission committee.

for anyone who got the written letter asking for grades – what does it actually say? anything encouraging - or just “send in grades, etc.”

mine changed from preliminary to forwarded few days ago

mine went from preliminary to unable.

i hope this is good.

i am from prelim to unable.
Hope gashergina is right

@ king81, if you’re talking about the no scholarship letter, it’s pretty explicit that they want the grades. “if you have not already done so, please submit the grades you earned from the first grading period of your senior year. For your convenience, you may submit your grades online at www…”

thementor5 - some people said their letter, like yours, explicitly asked for grades. Others said their letters had a different message about grades at the end.

^ ohh ok. I wasn’t aware of that.

my application just changed from the “unable to process” status to this today:

Undergraduate Application (Part II, Fall 2010)
Your application is being reviewed by the admission committee. We will mail notification of their decision by April 1. If for some reason you don’t receive our written notice, we will be happy to provide the results over the phone beginning April 11th.

i am wondering what the difference is between that status and the 'forward to committee ’ status… i did not apply before the scholarship deadline fyi.

My status went from Preliminary review to “unable to process” and then to Undergraduate Application (Part II, Fall 2010)
Your application is being reviewed by the admission committee. We will mail notification of their decision by April 1. If for some reason you don’t receive our written notice, we will be happy to provide the results over the phone beginning April 11th.

Is this a bad thing or a good thing?

same as kmart153
from PRELIMINARY to UNABLE to BEING REVIEWED

yeah mine has now changed back to “being reviewed”

^^ When did you guys submitted your apps?

I submitted before the Dec 1st deadline. I haven’t received a letter informing me that I don’t qualify for merit aid.
