I am an incoming freshman, and I was just wondering if USC has a campus-wide talent show. I went to UCLA’s spring sing earlier this year and it was pretty good. Does USC have talent showcases like this? I’m just curious.

Wow. 28 views and no replies. Come on guys.

They have songfest… with the greeks, isn’t that like spring sing at UCLA?

^ ya but not as good

Songfest is a spring showcase of campus talent. For many years it was held at the Hollywood Bowl with well known guest conductors. The 57th Songfest will be held in April 2010 at Bovard Auditorium on the USC campus. It is one of the oldest and largest college music traditions in the country.

At the campus location Songfest features musical skits and A Capella groups as well as dance ensembles. The most important part is all the proceeds from the show are given to Troy Camp.

Mayfield,
There will be many programs featuring the talented students/alumni/faculty at USC. The first major event will be on August 20th, Visions & Voices. Sept. 10th will be the huge celebration of the Thornton School of Music’s 125th anniversary. The celebration begins with a concert at Bovard Auditorium and continues with an all night party in Alumni Park.

Thornton will be holding a series of musical events in honor of the anniversary spotlighting the students and faculty from this distinguished conservatory within a major university. You may have the opportunity of hearing the great violinist, Midori, or the world renowned cellist, Ralph Kirshbaum.

Check the School of Theatre’s website for the long list of productions performed by the drama students which will begin in early fall.

The School of Cinematic Arts has scheduled films, lectures and exhibits on campus.
