<p>USC School of Dramatic Arts 2012 graduate has won the Jack Kent Cooke Graduate Arts Award. The honor includes as much as $50,000 per year for graduate study in the arts for up to three years. Only 15 students in the U.S. received a Cooke Award.</p>
<p>Xin Yi Bao '12 graduated in three years and received an undergraduate research grant from the Dramatic Arts School. Her heritage is Chinese and she wrote her skills might be best expressed through interdisciplinary artistic subjects.</p>
<p>Miss Bao said she learned valuable skills and received support from faculty members Tom Ontiveros, who taught her lighting; Christina Haatainen-Jones, drawing and Paula Cizmar, playwriting.</p>
<p>She intends to use the funds for graduate studies in the United States.</p>
<p>This award is one of the largest given in the country for graduate studies in the arts.</p>
