USC transfers.

whats exactly going on at the fall open house?

i just got back and it was great. provided even more detailed information that parents would be interested about such as financial aid, but mainly information regarding actually transferring there/ admissions, etc…

i got info from annenberg and the theatre school and i got to experience some actually classes.

you get to talk one on one with people from usc that can guide you so you can get accepted.

like for example this one professor there from annenberg gave me a link to a website that is useful for prospectives. he said that people that get accepted usually regard this site cause it has useful info.

stuff like that.

classes - on a sunday - are you sure?

oh whoops, just noticed that. they werent classes but rather, seminars that discussed the schools, financial aid, etc.

45 days left til move-in!!

aww man i wish i went! i want more info. are they having another one of these sessions?

actually no. But they do have other smaller things happening such as campus tours and transfer information sessions. trojanlove, did you mention that we both attend the same college? (Cerritos)

…Bump.

But also I seriously have a question…

Transfer Students do not turn in a letter or recommendation? Can we? Should we?

Oh man…so i have another question.

this fall 2006 semester, my first semester in community college I will have obtained 18 units with a realistic gpa of 3.6

next semester i will be over the 30 unit mark so Usc looks only at my college grades. a total of 18 units in spring 2007 means 6 classes for me. Is that too much to bear? the classes would be

english 103
math 80b
poli sci 100 (major pre req)
geography
sociology
theatre arts

as you can see, this spring semester would completly rid all of the GE usc needs… should i take all 6 classes or only 5? I will still be over the 30 unit mark. I also checked on ratemyprofessor.com and am making sure i will get all the easy “A” teachers.

Another ponder…

english 103 is an LC (Leaning community)…on the usc articulation it says it transfers. does it really? i ask cause this class is online. I thought online classes werent transferrable.

math 80b class can be taken on saturdays…again, i thought weekend classes werent transferrable to usc. fill me in please?

geography, on the usc articulation says “101 with 101L” how does this work? i know i should be asking my school this. example. the geography class 101 is on Wed. 7pm-10pm and the geography 101L is on Friday with a difference professor. im totally confused on this. the reason im interested in this subject is cause the 101L states that 2 field trips are required and also another entire weekend trip with your class.

Thanks or your time. (Smiles)

bad news for us spring admits. housing is running very limited. i called housing today.

posh they always say that youll get in

i hope yr right bro or else i g2 find some other apartment downtown n find a roommate.

how do u get into usc in spring 07? I thought that they only accept for fall transfer students?

you don’t apply for spring. you just get admitted for spring semester. and its a mother ****er.

so what is the difference between being admitted in spring and applyin for spring? dont u still study in usc in spring?

you cant apply for spring. you just apply. if they feel like they want to screw with your life a little, then they give you admission, but for spring instead of fall.

i know its ****ed up. as a matter of fact this link expressed exactly what i went through. the 6 month wait is seriously traumatizing. just wish the adcoms could see it and put an end to this ridicule.

http://www.usc.edu/student-affairs/dt/V144/N63/04-spring.63c.html

my advice to you: if they admit you for spring, tell them to shove it. i deeply regret accepting their spring admission. i wish i just continued at ucr for another year, kept up my grades, and transferred to berkeley.

el rey, i do go to cerritos college. now isn’t that interesting?

el rey, im taking eng 100 and 103 LC during spring … are you taking them as well?

trojanlove: Crazyness. I’m doing english 100 as well right now…with Christian. And I just finished researching for my spring classes as i will choose them tomorrow at 10:15am. In spring i will be conquering 102 with Swanson. I really wanted to do English 103 with Ernest but it conflicts with my Sociology class.

I’m stresssing out over here in this first college semester of mine. I’ve been doing horribly in my Math 80a class, I dont know where I stand. I hate Math. If there was a person named Math, I wouldnt want to meet them. And same goes for my french class. I have a B in there but am striding for an A but French is such a foreign language to me.

it’s my second year at cerritos and quite frankly i’m ready to leave. =) anyway i’m taking eng 100 LC and 103 LC with stiles and whinston. I also plan on taking spanish as a foreign language. do you know what the requirements for usc are for foreign lang? because i’m not exactly sure about it.

I took math 80A and B last summer and recieved a B in both. I am currently
taking math 114 and have a B as well but the class IS hard. ugh.

btw what sociology class are you taking? i’m actually thinking about enrolling in a soc class. so just let me know. bye el rey!
