USC transfers.

i Got in!!! i just got my letter

congrats dude!

how long ago did you send your spring grades?

i havent yet

My bad dude I thought you had said that you got a request for spring grades earlier.

Are you going to SC for sure next fall?

Jj, didn’t you say you got a request for spring grades a few posts up?

If so, they still gave you acceptance without sending them in?

Omg, when I found this forum, I couldn’t believe it. Let me explain. I go to UCR and have become obsessed with transferring to USC all year. My high school record is rather weak, but I am in my spring quarter now and have a 3.92 cumulative so far, and I’m sure I will have a 4.0 this quarter (God willing). I am very happy that I finally found people with the same concerns. However, all this bs aside, please tell me what you guys think my chances are of being accepted.

I already received the letter requesting for my spring term grades.
I’m a one year (sophomore) transfer.
I have completed the Math, English, Diversity, my 3 lower div courses, one semester of foreign language, and will finish 3 of my GE with the end of this quarter all within a 3.92 so far.
I applied to Econ major.

But here is the potential problem: According to my articulation history, I took a course here at UCR that fulfills the lower division English requirement. I finished this within two quarters. The transfer day rep said this would be fine. However, when I call them lately sometimes they tell me I need 3 quarters, and sometimes they tell me I’m fine. I already completed a course listed as an equivalent to USC’s lower division writing, however in 2 quarters. So do you guys think I have a shot or not?

PLEASE LET ME KNOW! I’ve been worried about this for some time now.

remember, ucr = quarter system while usc = semester… so 2 classes at usc = 3 classes at ucr… im assuming ur talkinga bout english 1a, 1b and 1c…

yup im goin to Sc in the fall.

I originally had received a request for spring grades but i checked the mail today and i received the admission packet. But i still havent sent in my spring grades because i still havent finished my spring semester at the cc that i am currently attending.

jj: did you get a letter or packet?

I know, but on the articulation, if you look 1B fulfills the lower division writing 130. I took 1B. They said it would be fine. Now some people are saying I needed one more quarter. What do you think?

if they say that 1b fulfills the requirment then it probably does.

i got the packet(with the certification of admission) w/out sending my spring grades

jj, what was ur major?

im hoping i get accepted despite getting a request for spring transcripts becuz im slacking off like crazy this quarter.

Hey, is it really true that if you receive the letter requesting your spring grades that you are almost as good as in??

Hey guys…congrats also USC Please…on your SIG account for financial aid…do you know what the Ability to Benefit form is and where you can get it?

To the person who has a question about english: YES, English 1B only fulfills the ENTIRE USC english requirement.

It’s crazy, but at transfer day i explicit asked the admissions coordinator. She looked into it, and she said that it was true.

:D

So it’s possible to recieve an acceptance even if you didn’t complete the spring grade request…but is it likely? Has this happened to anyone who applied to Marshall? How many people has this actually happened to?

It looks like it has happened to quite a few people actually (getting accepted with no spring grade requests)…by looking at these boards

Yeah I understand that. But what I would really like to know is if anyone was asked to send spring grades, never did, and then recieved an acceptance.

I am wondering any Marshall applicants got the acceptance without the grade requests?
