USC transfers.

I put that Brussel Sprouts were my favorite food, think I will get rejected?

male voice. har har, the music department even said they needed guys to sing. no i didnt blindly apply for that, ive been singing choral music and taking private lessons for like 5 years. i had my audition on saturday but i was at the beginning of getting sick so i really dont know how well that went. i would actually rather get in for econ anyways.

Basically anything for music is extremely competitive, except for male voice. I’m not exactly sure how competitive music industry is though.

DOes anyone know the average passing GPA on USC psych?

is there an online gpa calculator so i can check my expected gpa for when i transfer to usc as a junior?

fall 2006 i took 5 classes
spring 07 im doing 4 classes
fall 07, 4 classes
spring 08, 4 classes

well over 30 units, duh.

i just want to know my gpa can be at the time a year from now to see if im on the right track to getting into SC.

or…does anyone know how to check your gpa? like, well?

like, my french class i got a C and was worth 5 units.
English class got an A and was worth 3 units.
Anthro class an A and worth 3 Units.

I’ll give this a shot as long as I’m not held liable for my views/opinions. I know that USC makes ur gpa from transferrable courses, so I’m going on the assumption that all your courses will be transferrable. Now, as to the grades, there are two systems. A plus/minus system and a simple grade system (A/B/C/D/F). If you’re using the +/- system an A is 4.00, B+ is 3.33, B is 3.00, B- is 2.67, C+ is 2.33, C is 2.00 and so on. If you’re school simply grades grades wise then A is 4, B 3, C 2, D 1, F 0.

Based on this you take your gpa # (3.33, 4.00, 2.67) for your class and multiply it by the number of units your class was worth (C in french would = 10) You do this for each class then add the numbers you got together and divide by the number of units.

For example, with the three classes you mentioned you would receive 10 pts for french (5 x 2.00), 12 for english (3 x 4.00) and 12 for anthro (3 x 4.00). The combined pointes would be 34, and ur gpa would be calculated by taking 34/11, which would give you a gpa of 3.09. Hope this helped :)

Does anyone know when the application has to be submitted by online? I mean exactly what time… like if I submit it at 11:59 pm on Feb 1st, does it still count as turned in on time?

yes 1159 works. i suggest a few minutes earlier… just to get your credit card information right =]

Plus a lot of other procrastinators are also applying at 11:59 so the system might crash.

im on the east coast. does this mean i can submit the app before 2:59am?

lol, why are people so eager to submit it on the last minute ?

11:59 tonight at Joe’s house

Joe: Finally I’m done filling out my application and my card info… now all I need to do is Submit…

about to click on the submit button, then suddenly the computer goes off because his dog accidentally stepped on the power switch

Joe: *** ***!!! ■■■■!!!

Joe turns on the computer fast, goes into the application site, and clicks on the Submit button, only to see the message “The Application for Fall 2007 is now closed”

Joe: NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!

starts kicking his dog, the dog yelps, the neighbor sees this and reports to the cop. Joe gets arrested for Animal Abuse and his record is permanently ruined

Moral of the Story: Don’t kick your dog.

haha yeah seriously guys, turn it in by six or something. good luck procrastinators!

biggyboy - haha i’m the east coast, too. i submitted my app in december, but the submission date will be according to pacific time. so yes, you can.

okay…this is sooo sad. i actually submitted the app at 2:59am. definitely not my choice to send it that late…just glad it was before feb 2nd.

Who’s choice was it?

Does anyone know why for Marshall it says (after finishing part II of the app) Supplemental Materials need to be submitted online Feb 1, and then on the Marshall website it says the deadline is March 1?

yeah i think its a glitch. on the marshall website it says march so dont worry about it

How do we apply for financial aids, grants, and loans etc at USC? Excluding FAFSA and Cal grants, is there anything else we can apply that is specifically for USC?

are Cal grants like TAP for New Yorkers?

Thanks Colin387
