USC transfers.

RijeosXeper - You’re probably get into USC, UCLA, and Berkeley as well.

hey thanks Doryx… I don’t know about UCLA and Berkeley. I was hesitant about applying to those 2 schools mostly because I would be an OOS, so that would really affect my chances at admissions and Financial Aid… I had thought (and still do) that I was a somewhat average student. I have studied my butt off in college and done some good EC’s, but after reading some people’s accomplishments around here, they blow mine away…

Nah, with a near 4.0 and decent ec, you have an excellent chance. Don’t sweat it. Hard work pays off!

ive been ignored countless times on this board…am i just not usc material?

I think the reason why no one is answering your question is because we don’t know what you are asking.

If you want us to chance you, clearly state all your stats, what your applying as, what year, etcetc. If you ask us a vague question, we give you a vague response.

biggyboy - does this sound anything like your “writing 2” course? the “honors” lit course i’m taking precludes credit for the first half of my school’s two-semester english sequence; upon completion, it will be taken as the equivalent of two semesters of freshman english. usc admissions told me that such a course will fulfill the usc two-semester english comp. requirement.

my guess if that if you just tested out of the first semester instead of taking a more advanced course in its place, you’ll still be required to take another english course at usc. you might want to check to see if ap lit credit counts as elective credit or as freshman lit credit.

haha doryx: yeah i think ill be up late every night due to paranoia about usc.

im at pasadena city college right now. =] i’ll put a full stats up later tonight!

biggyboy: what are your stats again dude?

Just curious, since I"m kinda bored and a little tipsy I figured I’d post my chances. 3.4 gpa from ccc (2.96 from 4 year last year, 3.83 from ccc this year) [3.51 after this (spring) semester]. History major, REALLY good ec’s in higschool (good enuff to get me into west point/naval academy) but no college ec’s. GREAT essay (talked about going from west point to ccc)… applying to ucb, ucla, usc, ucsb, ucsd, ucd…any thoughts?

i wasn’t asking for a ‘chance me’…but if you insist:

male…jew…new york…
HS: low gpa/school not very competitive either…92/100 WEIGHTED…top 10% :frowning:
SATs: 2250 (800M 700CR 750W) IIs: Physics: 800 / IIC: 800 / IC: 700
College freshman…gpa…1st semester: 3.66 (at a semi-competitive honors college…public school)

CHANCE AT MARSHALL??

Thanks.

Are you attending a community college or at a university?

Marshall is super competitive, but you have a chance.

“Marshall is super competitive”

that was/is my worry Doryx…

Hey, does anybody know if you can fill out the supplemental Marshall application online? Or does it have to be done the old fashioned, paper, way?

Thanks

i attend a 4-year college

Chance me please, applying to Marshall:

3.849 Cumulative GPA at a mid-level UC with over 30 units
1360 SAT I on the old one
3’s in 3 AP tests
Interned at Econ website and work there now, work for school’s leadership center
Director of PR for the business club
Member of marketing association
Dean’s List for 3 out of 4 quarters

Pre-reqs:
A in Micro, A+ in Macro
A in Writing
A in Accounting 1, taking Accounting 2 in Spring Quarter
A in Calc I

Basically I have all A’s or A-'s, except for a C+ in Calc II. Chances?

startraksfinest: nice stats. no not nice, SWEET stats. i gotta say, it seems like you’re a shoe-in to CLAS at least. your business stats indicate that you’ll do well in marshall… so i dont see why they wouldnt take you?

are you considering retaking the C+ in Calc II? i would… thats what a counselor suggested to a friend.

please chance me, too.

black female. legacy. currently at va tech. applying for sophmore year.
hs gpa: 3.02 (for reasons thoroughly explained in personal statement)
sats: 2080 / 2400
aps: 5, 4, 4, 3, 2
college gpa: 3.813
credits: 43 appear on transcript (includes dual and ap credit); 16 last semester, 18 this semester

plenty of extra-curriculars, leadership, volunteer work, etc. for both hs & college. some work experience, but not enough to brag about.

my guesses:
RijeosXeper - your stats are really strong; i don’t see why marshall wouldn’t accept you.
LaxAttack09 - the improvement from 4-year to ccc speaks to your maturity. a GREAT essay on the west point bit will really help your application. no idea how competitive the history major is, but i’d say probably?
biggyboy - niiice sats. in at usc, but judging from last year’s posts, marshall might be more 50-50.
startraksfinest - really impressive. the only thing that stands out is the c+ in calc, but i don’t know how much they’d hold that one grade against you… especially if you were being compared to someone else with mostly b+'s where you have mostly a’s. i’d say in at marshall.

No one has chanced me yet!! Haha.

Asian/1st Generation College student
3.75 gpa with 24 units completed from community college. 16 more after spring. (Trying to get into sophmore year at USC)
Model United nations awards, organizing toy drives, children hospital volunteer work all during High School.
No exc during college and lousy 2.9 GPA in HS.
Essay was about taking care of my sick dad…
Bio Major, 2nd choice is poli sci

What do you guys think? I’m nervous as fack.

have the english requirement and prereqs for bio done and you should have a very good chance

I have English requirement done. There is bio prereq at USC? I never seen it! What is it?? HAha now I’m screwed!

I finished Stats already and bio 180 is in progress right now.
