USC transfers.

Doryx, thanks for your “long” reply.
OK, then tell me how I can find the info that I asked? where? where? where? Or, am I just blind?
I have a final word for you, SHINE KUSOTTARE YARO-

No, lets not keep it classy. I support DoryX in all aspects…nothing I hate more than stupid questions. Also, lets get ***** started between people and maybe it will spice things up and make the wait go by faster…

LOL!!! omg, this is so funny! I hate dumb questions, but i personally do not agree with people being rude. C’mon now!

hahahaha. nice.

“backwards? just plain stupid? ill be checking the dictionary for cillax”

Holy sheet, are you that anal where I misspell ONE word and you jump on it? You should reread your previous post. Grammatically, it sounded like it came from a panda. Make a better argument mmmkay?

“haha wouldn’t it be a ***** if unko got in and you didn’t?”

Good for him. It just means I wasn’t academically good enough to get in USC. Panicing about my GPA and all that is not going to increase my chances. It’s now a waiting game. Everything is turned in, nothing we do now will change the outcome. So again, CHILLAX.

“OK, then tell me how I can find the info that I asked? where? where? where? Or, am I just blind?”

Is this a trick? Are you trying to make me do the work for you? Get off your lazy arse and do it yourself.

“name-calling is entirely uncalled for… it’s one thing to politely suggest that someone do a little research if they’re constantly asking for information that is easily accessible, but there was nothing stupid about unko’s question.”

Who asked you? Unko can fight his own battles. Stay out of it or I’m going to hunt you down and set your cat on fire.

“SHINE KUSOTTARE YARO”
Que? Wow, big tough guy using words that make no sense to me. Does it mean, “you’re an iddiot” or does it mean “I want to massage Doryx’s ears and rape him in the face.” Why don’t you just say it in ingles like a big boy. I guess I’m not cool enough to understand Fuji language. Ill see you at the playgrounds @ 4pm!! Then we’ll see who the tough guy is.

“I support DoryX in all aspects…nothing I hate more than stupid questions. Also, lets get ***** started between people and maybe it will spice things up and make the wait go by faster…”

I <3 you. Lets make ugly babies together.

thanks for the response Doryx. I didn’t read it, but I’m sure it was both informative and relevant to the thread. Any viterbi applicants out there hear from the engineering dept.? I recall talking to someone on the phone who said we would get an early indication of how the initial review of our application (by the engineering school) went.

You should read it, I thought it was quite comical.

ccman - i’ve talked to a couple of people that applied to viterbi… no news yet.

socal?, i also applied to viterbi. i got an email saying they’d be giving out results on the 1st of march for transfers. but then again i doubt that. they posted the supplemental form for transfers a week before the deadline instead of december as they promised.

can’t blame them they’re reviewing tons of applicants.

Hey Guys,

So USC was among the tops on my list, and then I realized they don’t offer a degree in Finance. Instead, they offer “Senior Concentrations”. Among these, is indeed, Finance. My question is, would going to USC, majoring in Business and then selecting Finance as a “Senior Concentration” be the equivalent or near equivalent as going to other schools (NYU, Emory, UVA, etc.) and MAJORING in Finance? Is it the same thing?

Thanks.

I don’t know the answer but you can compare the course requirements and figure that one out. My guess is senior concentration isn’t gonna give you as much depth.

Chance for Marshall?
GPA:3.71 from 4yrs university in Oklahoma/3.79 Santa Monica College
(76 units completed by end of spring07)
1 GE required course is left and should be done by 07 Spring
Have completed all the major required courses.
English 1 A
English 2 A
Calculus1 C
MicroEcon A
MacroEcon B

3 W’s on CIS 4, Anthro 1 and Accounting 1 (explaned good reason on essay)

I applied last yr and got rejected with 3.71/3.73 asked for spring grade and got result July 15. (at the time of end of spring semester I completed all the major courses.)
USC Marshall was my dream school so I transfered to CCC for better preparation, but was rejected. (I actually applied beginning of April)

Since I am an international student, this yr going to be last chance to USC. I heard that USC extremely dislike withdraw marks on the transcript besides, I got C on Business Calculus. I am so nervous for admission decision.

to be continued…
I actually completed all the freshman composition 1 and 2 from previous school, however, my counselor at SMC said UC schools would count on for Enlgish 1. So, I took English 2(Literature) last Winter again. When I submitted last yr, I just was not able to complete English Literature at SMC due to recognition of late application. I guess several reasons that I got rejected.

 1. incomplete of English Literarue
 2. late application (46 units by end) sent all the documents by Mid of May (admission spaces were already filled out - rare chances) << I am an idiot !!
 3. low GPA
 4. C grade for Calculus
 5. Did not submit supplement application to Business Department
 6. 1st as Business 2nd as accounting (Did not know that they dunt accept accounting transfer.)

Due to spring transcript request, I guess my GPA was not enough high for marshall admission.

I am taking Calculus 2 ryt now, and I hope it would help little bit.

Hope those of you who applied wil get good result.

where did you hear that usc doesn’t like W’s on transcripts? i doubt there’s any concrete evidence of that.

Most students at CCC do know USC dislike W’s mark on the transcript. I also heard it from my friends. Hope it is just non-sense rumor.

He said that USC wants to see just perfect transcript as long as USC does offer sophormore transfer which is more chance to transfer students. (1 W is ok, but more than 2 Ws is going to be problem)

What about a W in a cooking class =P

I guess W in cooking class is not a big deal.

ohhh, i didn’t notice that you have 3 W’s… you’re right in saying that more than 1 or 2 W’s will make them suspicious. if you’ve only got one, the assumption is that you dropped the course due to scheduling (have to work, too much on your plate, not getting enough out of the class, etc.) or something otherwise excuseable.

those 3 W’s, the C in calculus, and the fact that you’ve already transferred once are probably going to be the biggest strikes against you. as long as you explained the W’s adequately and the rest of the application was solid, you should have a decent shot at acceptance to the university… i don’t know anything about what it takes to get into marshall, though.

marshalls is really hard to get into. if you dont have like a 3.8+, youre better off transferring as a econ or public policy major then try transferring within the university.

Anyone know how to report a change in scheduling to USC?
