USC transfers.

thanks!..also if i plan to major in finance does it necessarily mean i’ll be in the marshall school? thanks!

i thought marshall only had one major, business administration? i may be wrong though.

business administration is a general term… marshall is very diverse by allowing you to choose what you want to study in depth.

you will pick a major/concentration and that will be in essence your major ie.

marketing, finance, accounting, real estate development, etc.

and yes you will be in the marshall school if you picked finance.

as for the social life outside of usc, im enjoying a nice rockstar greygoose right now on a thursday afternoon! ;)

how ghetto is usc?
is the area around the school comparable to ucla?
id love to attend…but i dont think ill be very comfortable walking around the streets of la after some stories ive heard.
im from nyc, so there really is no need for a car (and i think once people start driving, they gain weight, so that can’t happen to me). do most kids have a car to avoid the ghettos of outer-usc?

maybe i shouldve posted this in another thread but im too lazy. anyone care to answer?

I do!..

I’m transferred to USC from New York myself. (upstate NY though!)

The area around USC is nothing in comparisn to UCLA you know!.. USC is in a complete ghetto neighborhood of south central LA. This is what we call actual LA. First time I came I didn’t like it here at all. But then I got used to it.

I don’t have a car. But many do have one.

The area of USC compared to the area around UCLA?

HAHAHAHAHA. That is funny. The area around UCLA is total rich-boy town, Westwood Village, the only thing you have to worry about there is getting your car scratched by some kid with a Bentley.

The USC area, on the other hand, poses a serious threat, if you are not careful. I was there a few years ago for the Metallica Sanitarium tour at the Coliseum, and walking back to my parked car (in the adjacent neighborhood) I was robbed with a knife slammed against my throat. Was almost killed, except that I had the sense to give him what I had instead of arguing.

joy! i can’t wait to potentially get robbed with a knife.

Can somebody please answer my previous post.

Thanks in advance!

Biggy, it probably won’t happen to you, unless you are walking around the area alone at night, like I was. What an idiot…I should have parked inside the Coliseum, but I was so intent on saving a few bucks, that I had to cough up eventually when I was robbed.

You would be well advised to stay out of those neighborhoods, whether night or day, rain or shine.

Does anyone else have the problem where SC is your first choice, but state schools and UCs require deposits and SIRs to be in by May 1st/June 1st? are the rest of you still putting down these payments just in case you get rejected from SC??

yes, i have that problem.

as for the june 1st dilemma - i haven’t decided yet… if i get into cal, ucla, or davis (and the finaid package is impossible to refuse), i’ll probably go ahead and send in the SIR. if not, it’ll be my current school or sc.

go to SC you won’t regret it

Did anyone receive a letter from USC requesting for more financial information…ie, Student non-filing statement etc?

aren’t the transfer decisions for engineering students supposed to be released last march???

Anyone have any experience transferring out of state classes, I’m applying as a Philosophy or Poly Sci Major with a 4.0 from SMC, but I went to U of A with ******** classes that had no equivalence to USC classes, and I also cross referenced classes they accepted from CSU and UC’s and couldn’t find them or they were sub-standard (6 hr lecture, 2 hr lab, while at UofA it was 3 hrs with 1 hr lab) and also business classes (one being online). How likely are these credits to transfer.

RejectedFromMIT>> yes. actually an automated email (after you submitted the online supp form) says aprl 1.

nada till now.

Is anyone having problems with the admission office? I sent in my hs transcript three times since Janurary and they still have not received it.

You should hand submit it then. All my transcript went in fine the first try.

anyone from ucsd transferring to usc?i have questions…

confused, what year are you?
