USC transfers.

how does housing for transfers on campus or at university owned apartments look this year?

Housing is guaranteed.

for everyone or just incoming freshman. I will be a transfer coming in as a sophomore.

hey guyz! I am reli curious. At this point, did most of you heard from USC or most of you are still waiting??? Pls answer…

im still waiting for a spring request

chocolategabanna: thankz for your reply, good luck to both of us…

any others?

goldenjet, its not likely at all that they would consider anything you submit because it takes 2 weeks to process things, even if they’re hand carried. By the time you submitted anything, your file will already have been evaluated.

I’m sure your fine without submitting anything else though.

I’m still waiting too! I applied for the theater school so I’m hoping it takes a little bit longer with the audition reviews! I’m hoping to transfer as an incoming sophomore and I have yet to receive a spring grade request…eeks!

jackwhite- you’re probably right. I’m not gonna send my grades unless they ask for them, then im gonna send along a letter of rec or two.

Has anyone tried calling admissions lately? I tried yesterday and they said the system was down but I got a feeling the lady remembered my voice from last year and lied, lol.

I got a letter today. Kinda bummed when it was a small one.

Open it up and its financial aid office asking me for my parent’s tax return. DODGED A BULLET. BTW, do you HAVE to send that in? It’s pretty private information and if I’m not even accepted to the school, why do they want it now? Can I NOT send it?

I called the admission office today, and they said that the system is down too. So it’s not just you goldenjet. lol

goldenjet - seriously, a 4.0 + rec letters will either really strengthen your application or have no affect on the admissions process whatsoever. there’s nothing to lose.

doryx - i’m guessing they’re trying to put together a finaid package for you. yes, it’s way personal… but then again, a lot of the financial documentation they ask for is personal. if you want/need a decent package, you HAVE to send it to them asap.

goldenjet-
I emailed my regional officer asking him if i should send him my spring grades and he said definately and it may speed the process up, so definately send in your spring grades.

Has anyone else sent in their parent’s taxes?

doryx- Im not eligible for FA but The fact that they’re asking for your parent’s tax return is a KILLER sign! I’d say you’re as good as in!

What major did you apply for? Stats?

Doryx, I was wondering, have you received a spring request letter yet?

Haha, don’t get ahead of yourself. My parent’s income is too high, so I never bothered to fill out Fafsa. I filled out the CSS form on Monday. Other than CSS, I’ve filled out or sent out NOTHING financial aid related. Here’s the letter I received today (TuesdaY) if you guys are curious.

http://bimmerclub.net/014939.pdf</a> (Sorry about the red lines, messed up editing it.)

Stats:

Asian/1st Generation College student
3.75 gpa with 24 units completed from community college. 16 more after spring. (Trying to get into sophmore year at USC)
Model United nations awards, organizing toy drives, children hospital volunteer work all during High School.
No exc during college and lousy 2.9 GPA in HS.
Essay was about taking care of my sick dad…

Bio Major, 2nd choice is poli sci

PreReq: Nothing for bio, but I have poli sci prereq complete.

As much as I want this to be a good sign, I gotta be realistic. I think this is a letter they send out to everyone who hasn’t turned in their financial aid.

well def. keep us updated doryx. Your GPA doesnt sound bad for the poli sci major. Honestly my opinion, i think you have good odds of getting in. Especially since the only prereq for poli sci is one class and the competitive GPA for that major is about 3.6

hope your right. I’m sure you’ll get in. I think you have a better chance than I do. BTW, where did you find out how competitive each major is?

Oh and no, I haven’t got spring request.

well…im not applying this year.

i was planning to but didnt do too well this past fall, which was my 1st semester in college all together. but before fall finals came by i was very anxious about getting into usc so i would visit the campus a lot and talk to conselours and ppl working there and filled me in during their little seminars.
You just gotta ask them nicely and they’ll give you all the info you need really.

im planning on putting down poli sci as my 2nd major choice, especially since im finishing up that pre req class. tomorrow is my final actually. if i ace it I get an A in the class…but a B seems to be more likely.

I;m doing an all nighter tonight which i hate so much. i dont even have Monster or Red Bulls nearby.
