AHHH i see goldenjet, sorry about that dude, u should definitely appeal

i think transfer merit scholarship decisions came out already.

on a similar note, does the amount of time financial aid office takes to make decision have any indication on the award amount?(ie longer time equals greater amount) i haven’t heard yet, they said next week

TO ALL ACCEPTED TO ATTEND USC:

does anyone mind posting an image of the financial aid letter they received (if any) along with their application? it would really help out a lot. (you can blur out your name to avoid any creeps). lol thanks!!

I just checked my finanical aid status and I have a new required document that just arrived. It is titled “Ability to Benefit Verification” and it says:

"We need this document/information to be able to disburse financial aid funds to your student account. This will not delay processing of your financial aid application. "

Has anyone recieved and/or does anyone know if this an indicator of being accepted?

31-don’t know if it’s indicator of acceptance, but mine showed that too. i called finaid ofc, they said to disregarde that, that the form is not required. now when i log on, it doesn’t list that form anymore

Laidback - How long ago did you recieve that notice?

laidbackguy - but how do they notify you? e-mail? snail mail? they have all of my contact info screwed up, so i haven’t gotten anything they’ve tried to send me by mail or e-mail (haha my admit packet, finaid package, other scholarship notification, and so on… nothing). that’s why i was wondering if it’s showed up on oasis yet… i’ve had to call or e-mail to ask about everything, but it’d be really awkward to call and ask about a scholarship i haven’t received.

speaking of which… admits - what all have they sent out? housing info? what was in the admit packet? can you give me the dates for orientation and the housing app deadline?

When you are ask for spring grade requests, does that usually mean that we are on the verge and they have the intent of accepting us depending on our spring grades. The reason why I think this is because I dont see why they would invest their time and money to send out the letters if they didn’t have the intent accepting us in the first place because they could have easily rejected us and not ask to see our spring grades. I know this question has been asked many times, but I just want it to be clarified

Just got done finishing reading ALL posts on this thread, it took me about a day and a half lol but well worth it because I learned alot. Like most people on here, USC is my dream school and I plan on trasnferring in the fall of 08’. My major is business administration and i’ll post my stats later cuz i’m dead from reading this whole thread.

Goldenjet-I see we have alot in common. Hockey, USC, and live in cali. I’m going to PM you, and i’m sorry that you didn’t accepted, but hopefully, we will be next fall. I’m going to PM you.

31-don’t remember exactly, i would say 2 weeks ago, and 1 week ago it stopped showing

socal-they notify by snailmail, and email as well i believe, and it should show up on oasis. however, for me, oasis/sig never really showed much for me throughout the whole process, i feel like mine is almost inactive

chocolategbanana,

I was hoping for the same thing too, but in my case USC sent the spring grades because they need to see my english class grade and to see if I completed all the units I mentioned on the application. im pretty sure they would never admit to psychology with a 3.45 GPA.

BTW if your grades are a 3.8 this spring semester which is huge improvement over the fall semester is there a good chance ill be accepted?

BH07

i was just wondering if you are guessing that they just want to see your english class grade or they sent you a letter stating that?

UGH618

it did not state that on the letter but my counselor told me that the admissions needs to see my english class.

after all the transfer brochure does say that english and math are required for admission no matter how high your GPA.

could somebody please respond to my last sentence.

Didn’t get admitted to USC neither.

I have a GPA of 3.89.

Anybody knows of a good accounting school in Los Angeles?

KC777

thats crazy. did you apply to marshall. Any Cs or Ds or Withdrawals on the transcript. did you fulfill the pre-reqs, eng. and math requirements?

Also does the letter also state the average GPA of this year transfer students. Do you mind telling me what it exactly was?

KC777-Did you have a backup major? cuz from reading all of these posts in this thread, they say to declare a second major that’s not competitive. If you get accepted as your second major, then you can change majors once inside and it’s really easy. I hope that made sense.

Also, how did you do on your essays? Because I know the essays play a vital role for admissions.

Regarding pre-reqs, I am currently finishing off the calculus and writing requirement. I write finals for these 2 next week & most likely will get As in them judging from my grades throughout the semester.

Average GPA stated in the letter: 3.7

Thought I wrote great essays.

The factor that played against me could be my academic record from overseas from 12 years ago… but, I was told not to worry about that by the director of admissions at Marshall school of business!!! I guess they don’t really look for upward trend!

No back up major…

I am only interested to go there if I can pursue a degree in accounting…

And, I have all As except for 1 B!
