avg gpa 3.57 applies for transfers of ALL majors.

Think about it, for every 4.0 there is probably a 3.0 (not exactly, but it should be close)

If you pull a 3.7 at UCONN and get rejected by Marshall or CLAS, you would have applied with the most competitive class of all time or you would have written the ****test essay ever.

haha, you do have a good point GJ.

Haha…I have the lowest GPA out of anyone here transferring I’m SURE…but that’s because it’s engineering. Engineering gpa’s are always considerably lower that most other GPA’s, just because of the difficulty.

But july4, I’ve been talking to the viterbi adcoms, and they said in a big nutshell that as long I have B’s or better, I am into USC. I got B’s & better, and I sent them in last thursday, and I’m going to talk to her monday to hopefully get some good news.

haha i bet since you’re taking like 20+ credits each semester.

Whats your GPA?

I’ve got about 3.25 for engineering. It’s lower more than CC’s because I’ve already gotten a good amount of EE classes and ME classes down, but I think that they like that.

So that is what worries me, but so far my UC to UC transferring has been successful!

3.25 is solid as hell for engineering. IS that your transfer GPA or your actual GPA?

total gpa, I don’t know about transfer GPA, I didn’t calculate it if you mean classes that would transfer to USC.

I don’t know, I’m paranoid. THe viterbi adcom had looked over my entire profile when she told me “B’s or better this quarter basically”, but I am STILL worried…

agh should i be??

when they say the average is 3.57…do they mean average GPA or GPA in classes that will satisfy a gen-ed/prerequisite/english requirement?

IF you were told B’s and better would get you in, then B’s and better will get you in- You’re as good as in!

King James- Im not sure but I’d guess Transfer GPA. My transfer GPA is actually higher than my regular GPA.

USC has accepted applicants with sub 3.0 GPA’s before. Grades arent the only things that factor into their decisions.

lol, what else can they really look at? HS/SAT play a very little role if you have 30+ credits…which leaves EC’s, essays/short+paragraph answers, and other factors such as URM and 1st generation. Can those actually boost a student that much?

Also, how do you define what a transfer GPA is? Classes that will fill some sort of requirements (basically anything but electives) at USC?

But golden, you have to be uneasy too - your decision is due any day now, right?

haha are you kidding? im a wreck! I havent been able to sleep until like 6 AM on most days. I went to work today with an hour and a half of sleep (i had a 8 hour day.)

The only difference between us is you’re more or less a shoe in. I wish I was in your position.

I don’t know, my gpa isn’t nearly as amazing as some peoples on here. We’ll see! but i know how you feel!

either way, when we know - the alcohol’s on me! ;)

You’ve already been told that if you got B’s or better this semester you’d be in and you did that. I understand that you may have a slight feeling of doubt but seriously, you’ll be fine.

The one positive is that I’ll only have to deal with this stuff for 4 more days max, it’s seriously taking years off my life, lol

haha yeah true.

but where do you live again golden? and your major?

I’m from Jersey- I applied for Creative Writing and English.

if i don’t get in im going to cry… and then drown my sorrows out with alcohol.

seriously.

golden, you haven’t visited the campus yet i presume? it’s beautiful.

hobo: are you still here in UCR, or have you gone home?

im at home… cant stand riverside. It must be liek 100 degrees right now.

You.Have.No.Idea.

it’s 8:32 right now, and it’s 92 degrees out.

welcome to hell
