good thign my deposit was small (100) :)

I also called friday and they still don’t have a decision on me either… i had heard annenburg and film school take a while to process applications but i never expected to be this long for letter, arts and sciences…this sucks

Trojan, I read some of your posts and you said you faxed them? Well, I faxed mine about 1.5 weeks ago, and then last wednesday I turned in my officials. It took them two days from receiving my officials to make the decision, which was friday. Your long delay may be because you haven’t submitted official transcripts yet. Viterbi said faxing is fine until they get officials in. So this could be it i suppose?

mr puppy, are you sure that parking message is correct? where did you find it?

I just logged in and saw a few parking lots open–they all suck and are ptty far off campus though. I was going to hold off and wait to see if a better one near my off-campus apartment would open up, but your message scared me so I just bought one at the Parking Center right now. The on-campus ones aren’t going to open up–you should just park right off the street.

For those of you accepted, do you know if you need to still send in final transcripts even tho you sent them all in when applying (including Spring grades)?

I just requested my current school send official to USC admissions. I asked my regioanl rep about it in an e-mail but then I decided Id better do it cuz I wan’t sure how long it would take for her to get back to me. Hopefully this helps them make a decision soon. Thanks for the tip technics.

My transcripts just arrived on Wednesday, so I am guessing it is going to be a few week. How long after you guys sent in transcripts did you find out. I am waiting for Marshall.

I just bought a parking permit at the University Parking Center. I’m under the impression that it is displayed as UPX on the parking map? IF anyone can help me out with this, that’d be great.

Oh, and the transfer Orientation for July 11 is full!! Argh! I’m gonna have to call them tomorrow and beg for a spot, lol. Are the offices open tomorrow?

Wannabe,

do you have any idea why it is taking so long for them to make a decision? Do you think its because you are oos?

Is it true that geographical residence doesn’t play a role in USC making a decision on its applicants? On pricetonreview.com it says under admission factors:

Geographical residence- Not Considered

Is it just me or is that complete BS?? You can’t tell me that if 4 people apply from Montana, that it doesn’t boost their chances. Plus, USC seems obsessed with diversity.

(unless they mean that being from California doesn’t help since USC is private)

RacerT: full or not, I’m still going. I am SURE that they can take an extra person - i bet they won’t even notice. have you turned in your deposit yet too? where did you try and sign up?

I need that academic advisement and whatnot!

And TrojanWannabe, if you can, don’t have them send it - pick it up, if you can, and send it yourself overnight to USC.

KingJames: I don’t think it’s entirely true, but I do bet that they do weigh CA applicants slightly better, just as a good neighbor policy. A lot of schools do this and don’t say it.

Goldenjet and July4 had great stats and were not admitted, so perhaps geographic location does play a role?

and collegegirl: are you OOS? when did you submit your officials?

Yes I am oos and I submitted everything several weeks ago.

you really think CA kids get an advantage? If anything I would think it would be a slight disadvantage considering sooo many people from there apply to USC…and USC wants as much (geographical) diversity as possible.

I think there are just a lot of qualified applicants and admission is very competitive. We’ll see what happens in the next week or so…Hope we all get in!!

well I’m in Florida right now and will be until July 25th, my school is in NY so picking it up isnt an option. Thanks for the advice.

technics…Well, I didn’t choose USC but good luck to you in USC! Let me know how everything is going so far for you in USC.

Oh kevin, where are you off to?

if I remember correctly from his previous posts Kevin101 has decided to bRuin his life.

just checked the status of my transcript request for my current school and they sent them today. My school is in NY so Im sure they wont get to USC until Thursday or Friday. I hope this is what was taking them so long to make a decision and I’ll hear soon. Thanks again for the tip technics.

okay great Trojan. does anyone know if admissions is open? i want to go drop off my deposit
