USC transfers.

congrats hobo!!!

sexmachine, what was your EFC for such ****ty aid?

congrats everyone! Tech do we have a final list - or have some not heard yet?

hobo…don’t. in case you guys didn’t know, but your USC GPA starts over as 0.0 at SC. So in other words, forget about your old grades ;)

Yeah…I’m still waiting on Marshall
I’m from PCC btw
GUH!

technics, do you mean to say that the gpa we had at ucr does not get transferred over and we start from scratch?

umm… well my friend who transfered to USC said we have a transfer GPA and a USC GPA, they keep the GPAs separate and don’t mix the two, unlike the UC’s where your GPA continues.

USC only reports the USC gpa, however on transcripts your transfer GPA shows up.

however, USC goes off of your USC gpa. so if you’re going for an internship, you can be like “mm yes i have a 4.0 USC gpa…” :D

i see

what’s an efc? on my finaid it only showed 3 things: federal workstudy, stafford loans, and university grants. i never saw an efc.

what the heck… i just got my admit packet today… it says they accepted me as a sophmore ??? and i’m in economics!!! are they gonna clear this up when i go to orientation?

The major, probably not… unless it’s just a major swap under LAS (where Economics is…) to like Math or something… otherwise you’ll have to go through the process of applying to that school/major once you’re at USC. As for the school level, yes, definitely. If some of your stuff didn’t transfer they’ll clear that up at orientation. Heh, STARS had me as a Sophmore, my Transfer Packet at Orientation had me listed as a Freshman (LOL) and I left that day with everything marked as a Junior. They just needed to finalize some of my transfer credit. What was your applied major? I can’t remember, were you Business or Engineering? (I’m way too lazy to look back through this thread today).

i’m in marshall… i don’t think i got into the marshall school because i slacked off like crazy my last quarter (3.1) it says i can apply again… ill email my counselor.

When I talked to them, they said Marshall was totally full and there was no way I could change the major to business. They said I could fill out a transfer form immediately, and then they would consider me for spring, but suggested i take calculus 218 (?) to make me more competitive. Is that a hard calulus class? I think it’s business and statistics…

thats calc 118 and its business calc and its the easiest class in the world

i STILL have not heard yet…and if something is sent to my house I wont be the first to see it since Ill be in LA & Santa Monica Monday-Weds…
I hope my sisters dont call with bad news…

ahhh!! caligirl, hang in there!!! you’re not the only one, my friend is still waiting as well! good luck.

and i think i didn’ get into marshall because i did so terribly my last quarter, which they wanted to see… my friend got into marshall! oh well, we can always transfer within schools.

like i said before, at orientation they told everyone dont stress that they would all get into marshall. thye just ran outta room for everyone at this time.

but good luck caligirl - we’re all pulling for you!!

oh sex: and efc is estimated family contribution. it’s what the government expects your family to give to support your education. usc should meet the rest of the money.

smachine,

it’s the second calculus, 2 something…I have already taken Calculus I. What class is that?

hobo, what exactly happened…you applied as 1st choice marshall, 2nd choice econ and got into econ? oh well, you can always transfer after a semester or so. be happy you’re in USC! what were your stats/school again?

technics, where exactly do they write your efc. the finaid package i got didnt write it and it’s not on my oasis account either.

collegegirl, math 218 is a “Probability for Business” class. if you mean calc 2, then that is math 126.

Yes, 218 is what they told me to take. is it hard? anyone know? My calculus class at McCombs was HARD!!!HARD!!!, and calculus in high school was pretty easy for me (and I was at a very competitive high school!).

is 218 a calculus class?
