USC transfers.

you have to withdraw sex.

alright, i know for sure that i am in. Im pretty certain that its a spring admit b/c my financial aid only shows for spring. It also shows that i’m in the econ program! wat the heck? can i transfer into marshall later?

ya me too, my financial aid summary shows some stuff and then it shows Econ BA and all my costs for spring. hobo, how do i withdraw??

damn! i applied for marshall too, i hope this is a mistake… i guess i have to apply again… to withdraw, just call the registrar and talk with them.

dude my finaid package is almost nonexistent. i got 2k in grants, 1k in stafford loans, and 1k federal workstudy. they might as well have not given anything.

oh man, i never thought id say this but i might go back to UCR for one more quarter

hobo, why???

hey i just wanna know, how do u create a new thread or forum or w/e on this site?

Hey there!

I wonder how orientation is going…

I’m going to fly in next week to register, etc…I found an apartment and roommate last night., so things are going okay, but I got in as undecided, and they wont let me declare business as my major… it’s really strange…been talking to people in the business school trying to get help. Everyone’s been really nice… I’ll have to see how it goes. I’m giving up alot to go to USC undecided…but I’m going to do it! It’s complicated…they want me to take the second calculus, maintain a 3.0 (???) and then I will be competitive to get into the business school (I had a 3.55 my first semester, and a 4.0 last semester; cum 3.73!)…I was accepted as a freshman…

It’s hard to compete with all of the CA students coming from CC’s with 3.8-4.0’s. That’s just the way it is…

So do you think where you come from matters? It’s just the numbers, that’s all it is…at least in my experience. I’m just going to take the class and then hopefully move into business…

But I need to be in LA for my business, so I am happy, happy, happy to be making the move… I love USC!

CollegeGirl, they had me marked as a sophmore at first, I’m now a Junior after Orientation… they just needed to finalize some of my transfer stuff, you may be in a similar boat. As for transferring to Marshall, that shouldn’t be a problem… besides we’ve all got a bunch of GEs to hammer out first anyway… so just kick some ass in the fall and be talking to those marshall folks and you should figure a way to transfer in (I think the process will be a hell of a lot easier once you’re there anyway.)

thanks for the encouragement mrpuppy.

I don’t want to sound ungrateful, and I’m really excited about USC. It’s just hard to leave a great business school (McCombs) with a 3.73 and start over again as undecided. But I’ll make it happen!

oh man, i am SO tired.

orientation was a blast…but a tiring blast.

i would give you guys a full run down, but it happened so fast and i got literally a truckload of papers and packets i dont even know where to begin.

first of all - DONT WORRY if you are undecided or what your standing is. half my classes didnt get transfer credit but after i met my advisor he cleared everything up. there was an engineer who wanted to do business and they set him up fine. you WILL get into marshall when you complete the pre reqs, the only reason why you did not get in was because marshall ran out of spaces for transfer. they told us this today at orientation.

but lunch was a fantastic meal on real silverware catered with music and everything. i was really impressed at the entire thing - i thought it was awesome.

collegegirl: how did you get an apartment and room mate so fast? I assume it wasn’t through trojan housing.

No. Friends helped. I found someone that is a friend of a friend that had already leased a large apartment and was looking for roommates. It worked out great, because I needed a parking space, and I ended up with my own room w/shared bath. I’m so excited! It’s close to campus and newly renovated…

sweet!! i’m glad we all made it in :)

seriously what a relief. hobo are u really going back to ucr?

hobo i hope you only want to return for a quarter. don’t do it man get out while you can. I seriously considered staying and transferring as a junior, but that is such a big risk. USC Econ will open more doors than UCR BSAD.

nimeshshah, your persian arent you?

ya i agree with u though, if you get a ticket out of ucr why go back

he meant for the fall, before his spring admission

but hobo, just chillax and go to a CC and get those ge’s outta the way.

hobo, congrats on your admission!

haha, nah, i’m definitely not going back permanently but i might go there to boost up my GPA… i’m basically done wtih my GE’s but myf riend told me i should get my GPA up bcuz the people he interviews have really high gpa’s from SC (3.8’s, 3.9’s) so he said just take 1 real class and 2 bs classes.

oh and i talked to the counselor and she said i was in marshall!
