USC Transportation Account

I created an account on transnet.usc.edu a while back, and when I filled it out I saw the drop-down labeled “Off-Campus Housing Residence.” I’m a freshman who will be living in Harris Hall so, I left it as “N/A” and moved on.

But today I checked it and I saw the dorm I’m going to be living in listed in there, along with all the other dorms at USC. What should I do?

TrojAndrew, I agree. It’s a weird drop-down layout. It looks like it’s just for off-campus, but when you pull down the menu the dorms are all listed. I wonder if they meant Off Campus SLASH Housing Residence. My son selected his dorm, so now it says his dorm right across from “Off Campus Housing Residence.” Which makes no sense.

They really should be clearer!

I ended up putting my dorm too. I found this page from an e-mail they sent me: http://transnet.usc.edu/pdf/students-summer-fall-spring.pdf?utm_source=TRX+Incoming+Students+-+Fall,+2010&utm_campaign=cca24c8bbd-20100610+TRX+Fall+2010+Permit+Lottery+-+Part+2&utm_medium=email

Under “1. Create your Online Parking Account” bullet #2 it says “Select a USC housing residence. If you are not living in USC housing choose
N/A for this field. Eligibility for all off campus residential permits requires
proof of residency for the location requested.”

So I changed it to my dorm. Unfortunately it took me off the waiting lists I was on for the parking lots. (I signed up about a month ago) Is that going to affect me? I am hoping not since it is a lottery.
