USC Undergrad Admissions Question + chance me please! :)

Hey Guys!
Top Choice is USC! Please let me know where I stand :)

Applying for 1. accounting 2. marketing 3. finance

sat: 2060
(taking dec. sat IIs in math 2 and lit)
gpa: 2.7

rigorous private school

wrote strong personal statement about the chronic illness i was diagnosed with in 10th grade (reason for low gpa - hit me very hard but i’ve recovered from it; 10th gpa: 2.4, 11th gpa: 3.1, 12th gpa: definitely more than 3.5)

teacher recommendations: they literally told me they wrote amazing ones. plus i have strong relationships with both of them
counselor recommendations: good relationship with her - at the risk of misinterpreting our relationship i assume it’s a really good one!

Sibling legacy (grad school, though)

ecs:
swimming
lots of vocal stuff
play piano, trumpet, guitar regularly
volunteer at church, hospital, libraries
babysitting job
intern at non-profit org
musical/crew involvement in and out of school
certified peer counselor
entertainment committee for diversity club
badminton team
worked 2 elections as student aid

p.s. interview coming up in a couple of weeks - any tips?

thanks so much!! my other schools are lmu, chapman, scripps/pitzer, usf, usd, scu…what do you think of those?)

While you have legit reasons for a low gpa, I’ve heard that USC really like high numbers so your SAT score might hurt you there :frowning:
but everything else seems great so you have a good chance I’d say

thank you for your input, mysweetwawa, i appreciate it!
any other opinions? any slightest bit of info would really settle my mind :)

How was your math score? With accounting as your goal, I would expect that score to be important.

i am taking math 2 and lit this saturday! hoping for somewhere in the 700s
other than that though, how are my chances?
