USC vs. UPenn vs. JHU Pre-Med/Humanities

Hello everyone!

I was lucky enough to get into all of these schools’ CAS programs and am now looking at what each college has to offer.

I know UPenn and Hopkins both have amazing pre-med programs, but the students in them are super-competitive (almost to the point of being cutthroat, especially at Hopkins). I went to an Explore USC session and the students here seemed to be a little bit more relaxed/friendly/willing to work with you. I’m just wondering if SC has enough research/internship opportunities to allow me a similar shot at getting into med-school should I choose down that path. I’m also curious about how much support pre-meds get when they apply to medical school - does the administration have a “full-committee” process similar to Hopkins’s?

With regard to the humanities - I’m just trying to see how USC stacks up against Penn and Hopkins.

Bump. I’m also wondering about people’s opinions on this…

Me too.
I’m between Hopkins & USC for premed.

Rules,
Here is the answer I found about pre-med advising. SC does have department academic advisors. In addition, for pre-med students there is a USC Pre-Health Advisement Office. It offers workshops for getting into medical school and other services to help students through the entire application process. The phone is: 213 740 2534. Here is the website for the office: www.usc-edu/pre-health.
Since time is short I would advise calling the office and comparing the services offered. Make sure you ask for an advisor/staff consultant to assist you with your questions.
