Use of SAT II Books?

How alike are the SAT I Math Sections and the SAT II Level 1 Math Sections?

All of the strategies that you learned for the SAT Math sections are still relevant on the subject test. Of course there is much more material that you need to know for the Subject Test. I plan to eventually write a strategy book for the subject tests, but right now I use the princeton review book together with the actual tests from the college board book when I tutor students. Almost all of my students break a 700 with these materials, and many do much better than that.

What exactly is in the SAT II Math Level 1 Subject test that isn’t in the SAT I Math section?

I’ve only bumped when this thread moved into the second page, and my question has not been sufficiently answered for the last 2 weeks and a half…

Well I say you go to the subject test forum with this question or go to a library/book store and look at the two prep books and see what the difference is.

The subject test tests more straightfoward knowledge & applications, while the SAT1 is more tricky/think outside of the box type of deal

That’s not true. The subject tests are just as tricky as the SAT. In fact there is a lot of overlap. All of the same strategies that you use on the SAT can be used on the Subject Tests. Solid Geometry and Trigonometry are the main 2 new topics on the Level 1 Subject Test. All of the SAT topics are there as well, but the questions can be more difficult. A couple other topics that may appear are limits and complex numbers.

You are cheeky, Mr. Dante. I suppose seeking help is what this forum was for.

Thank you schoolisfun and DrSteve for your insight. If there are any other opinions, I would be glad to hear them.
