USF-NMSF-3.9 gpa highly competitive high school NY

We are in NY my daughter hopefully get NMSF (224 index). Not qualified for fin aid. We are warming up to applying to USF. Does she need move all the stuff from the dorm at the end of the year or is it
same room for all 4 years.
We are having difficult time creating list of school. Can we expect full tuition credit from BU? We can afford around 20,000.
Does indicating not applying for financial aid help with admissions or no?

I don’t know of any college that assigns the same room for 4 years. Many schools don’t even guarantee housing for 4 years. Many schools also use the dorms for camps and conferences over the summer, so yes, she’ll have to move out every year even if (unlikely) she is returning to the same room.

There are a few schools that give NMF full tuition or even more, but I don’t think BU guarantees that.

Some schools are need aware and indicating you do not need financial aid may help with admissions, but if you need financial aid to attend, what good does it do to be admitted and not be able to afford the school? If you need aid, apply for it.

Most schools are need blind for admissions. That doesn’t mean you’ll get all the financial aid you think you’ll need, but does mean that the admissions office doesn’t consider what the financial aid office is doing.

USF = University of South Florida?

University of New Mexico offers a full ride scholarships for NMF. Tuition, fees, room, board.

good luck to your daughter!
just want to say, there are SO MANY variables in college. Moving things from a room to another or off campus is just one of many many small, but overcome-able obstacles your daughter will come across. They tend to work out; but they do cost usually. Just plan on that now!

If you are looking at USF look at FSU they have an out of state tuition waiver may qualify for,
SAT around 1400 plus or ACT around 31 and no C in any high school class would be a good candidate

Thanks for the info.

If she does get the NMSF

She would get at FSU
Out- of-State National Merit Finalists are not eligible for the Benacquisto Scholarship. Instead, out-of-state National Merit Finalists are eligible for a 100% out-of-state tuition waiver scholarship, a university freshman scholarship, and a $500 NMSC stipend (if college sponsored) for a total value of approximately $69,376 over four years.

All National Merit Finalists are guaranteed admission into FSU’s University Honors Program.

Info on same link posted earlier

While it’s not an automatic scholarship like some other schools . it is highly likely if you have no C’s in any class and High test scores 31 ACT and upper 1300’s SAT. We are in Florida and FSU is getting harder to get into every year. here is the breakdown of fall 2021 freshman class
