All 11 Florida public universities are looking for new additional revenue sources in today’s tight money times. USF wants to enroll more out-of-state students who pay more money.

It’s going to make it harder to get in even with good GPA’s/Test Scores. Applicants with average GPA’s etc… will probably be deferred initially. Universities are being more selective and I believe it’s because they are waiting for Out of State Money to come in. But this is really nothing new. Universities have traditionally set aside spots for out of state students but now they need more of that out state money.

If we go from 2800 OOS students to the Max 10% or about 4700 students that means that we will loose another 1900 spots for our local/statewide students. Students and Parents need to be aware of this and start preparing earlier on.
