USF Student-Athletes getting free laptops

Each of USF’s 461 student-athletes will be given MacBook Pro laptops Monday Dec. 7th with new USF and Apple Computer partnership.

St. Pete Times story about the partnership Apple and USF:

[South Florida’s deal to get laptops for athletes first of its kind - St. Petersburg Times](http://www.tampabay.com/sports/colleges/south-floridas-deal-to-get-laptops-for-athletes-first-of-its-kind/1057365)

Thats Discrimination. Suit

The USF athletic dept. got funding for the laptop program from the NCAA Academic Enhancement Fund, private funds raised from the school’s Bulls’ Club annual auction, and a grant from the Verizon Foundation that USF athletics went out and secured. USF did not use any money from general student fees for the program.

It is not like it is a special privilege for jocks at the expense of other students. It is not discriminatory and nothing sinister is going on; every USF NCAA student-athlete is getting a MacBook, every student at USF may tryout for the 16 athletic teams. The student-athletes have to travel a lot and the laptops can assist with studying while on the go. Other USF students get computers too; for example, National Merit Finalists receive computers through a merit scholarship program at USF.

Yea, u must want to major in Law…bcus I was JOKING.

Where are they getting all of this money from…? They offer scholarship money like crazy and give stuff like this away all of the time.
