USF vs UF

<p>I am going to be a senior in HS this year and I am considereing trying to get into one of these accelerated programs. I will be staying in florida because I can get the bright futures scholarship. I know that UF and USF have the accelerated programs but I think for UF you apply during your second year and for USf you apply during either your first or second(website wsn’t very clear). Is one or the other easier to get into, because I don’t want to go to one and then not get into the accelerated program if I could have gotten into the other. Is it possible to attend one school and be accepted to the accelerated program at the other? I would think that the school would favor its own students though. Let me know what you think.
Do you think one school is better than the other?
Also I don’t see anywhere on either of their websites where it requires SAT IIs. Are they not required because I thought all of the accelerated programs would require them?</p>

<p>Next year I will be taking AP Physic B and C Kinematics,AP Stats, and AP Macro Economics along with dual enrollment English Composition and European History.</p>

National Merit - probably commended but maybe a finalist (find out in Sept.)
AMC 12 Math award
Varsity Golf team since 10th grade
150 hours of community service
NHS since 10th grade
Mu alpha theta - since 11th i am vice president this coming year.
M.C. altar server at church
will be an Eagle Scout in a couple of months
Also in Boy Scouts i was the Senior Patrol Leader(boy in charge of whole troop)
Worked with army research lab as an unofficial kind of intern over for a total of 4 weeks over the last 2 summers.</p>

<p>I know none of these show my interest in medicine but since you don’t apply to the programs until after your first year of college I can probably add something in there by then.
Do I have a chance at either of these two places?</p>

<p>stats are pretty good, i’d suggest u do some research over the summer (call a couple of doctors at your local hospital). I’d suggest you also apply to umiami’s program (its for high school seniors). They give pretty good scholarships. I don’t know much about the UF and USF programs.</p>

<p>Do you mean that I get accepted to the accelerated program at UM straight out of High School? That would be good, I think I can get bright futures for what a state funded school would cost if I go to a private florida school so that would work too.</p>
