Using an essay from last year?

So, I was considering writing the Mustard Essay from last year. Would this be too rebellious? I have a neat idea to tie it in with “being stuck in the past”.

There was no mustard essay from last year. Google tells me one of the prompts from '04 was “write an essay somehow inspired by super-huge mustard”; unless the admissions office really loves mustard, this is probably the one you’re talking about.

At this point, it could go either way. As a general rule I don’t think the admissions office wants to read essays on old prompts, as they’ve already read thousands of essays on that prompt before, but this one could be old enough that that wouldn’t really apply. Your idea sounds clever and I don’t see the harm in doing it if it’s going to be a unique essay that no one else who did the mustard prompt 7 years ago could have written. Otherwise, see if you can apply your idea to one of the other questions or if you can pose your own question that would allow you to utilize that answer.

Would you mind reading my essay OxalisWombo or anyone else for that matter?
