I have a paper due tomorrow on a topic that my boyfriend had a month ago. I wrote his paper for him and I want to use it as mine for this one I will be turning in. I just don’t want to write another whole 10 page paper over something I’ve already written. He turned it in on his school account to his teacher but not on Turnitin or any other websites like that. Do you think I would get caught if I turned that paper in?
Wow.
I wouldn’t risk it. I don’t think it was wise to do your boyfriend’s paper, but you can’t really change that now. This would be really tedious, but I would just do another 10 page paper.
You will be caught if you use the same paper again.
This is your penance for writing a paper for him. You should not have done that and you both could have gotten into a lot of trouble. You still could if the school finds out.
So he cheated, and now you’re considering cheating?
Turning in a paper that someone else has written is cheating.
Turning in a paper that has already been handed in under someone else’s name is cheating.
Basically, there are no “two-fers.” One name per paper.
To answer your question, yes I think you will get caught. You and your boyfriend aren’t the first to think of the idea of having someone else do your work for you.
And what I’ve learned on CC is that even using the same paper twice, period, is usually considered cheating, even if you wrote it for yourself.

Indeed. If you came here seeking validation for your intended actions, you’re mistaken. Since there is nothing left to say, I’m closing the thread.
