using AP credits

I need some help on scheduling. Does anybody have any thoughts about using AP credits? In particular should I skip up in chemistry or start with the lower level classes. I'm afraid I'll be in over my head as a freshman if I take all higher classes but it would be nice to come in with some credits. Any thoughts?

If you've already taken general chemistry and you feel like you have a strong grasp on it, there is no point in retaking it. You will simply be taking sophmore level classes instead and they are really not that bad. I skipped out of gen chem and I did just fine. A lot of freshmen do.

what about taking calc credit, and going straight to multivariable???

If you have AP credit, UNC's honor code will not alllow you to both take the AP credit and then re-take the class. I believe that you either have to waive the AP credit and re-take the class or take the placement and the higher level class.

If you have enough AP credit to by pass the freshman level chem classes the next class is analytical chemistry which is the first of a three semester orgo class.

My S got a 5 on AP BC calc but never took the class because of scheduling issues and was tutored to take the BC exam. When he enrolled at UNC they automatically placed him in the NEXT higher math class and would not allow him to re-take the BC equivalent saying that it violated their honor code.
