Using swears in an essay

How would colleges look upon if you use swears in your essay. Not like every line or as narration but for dialog. I’ve experimented with using non swears but the language isn’t as strong and primal as I want it to be.

Are you out of your ^#@& mind? Don’t do it!

yeah don’t do it. what’s the point it will look like you’re trying too hard

Well I had this piece of dialog leading off my essay and I couldn’t find the right words to use. So I thought of putting in a swear.

Something akin to skrew this, f*** this, I’m done with this

Do you want to run the risk of offending the reader? Do you want to appear as though your vocabulary is so limited that you had to resort to cursing?

And if you do decide to risk the above, let me strongly advise you NOT to drop the f* bomb.

I see your point, every older person I meet seem to be a stickler when it comes to swears.

On a personally level, I think its an ultimate form of expression used delicately.

Anyways, can you recommend some other phrases. I managed to write out the dialog but I wouldn’t mind using it again if I can replace the weak, “I’m done with this,” phrase I was using.

how about “I’ve had it for god sakes!”

If you decide to use “I’ve had it for god sakes,” it would correctly be written, “I’ve had it, for God’s sake.”

I’ll let you know if I come up with a strong word that could be used in place of swearing.

I think swears are purposefully powerful. I hardly ever swear because my day to day living isn’t that intense. let me try to express something along those lines without swearing.
That’s it. I’m done. I’ve had it with this. There is no turning back now. I have nothing more to say, nothing more to do. The story is complete. It’s final. (I am completely enraged that my CD player is skipping.)

‘i;m done with this crap…i’ve had it!’
crap…too risque? :P

If you’re going to use it, use it once for the impact. More than that might hurt you.

cuss words can be great, if used the right way.

“they always f*** you at the drive through”
“I’m busier than a one-legged man at an a-kicking contest”
“Wish in one hand, sh in the other, see which fills up faster”

“F*** this, I’m done with this” is not one of those.
