I’m supposed to turn in a paper to Turnitin for one of my classes that’s due in 2 weeks, and when I click the link that’s on the side of MyUCLA it says

“No Fall 2012 classes found with TurnItIn enabled.”

I’ve never used Turnitin at UCLA before, so I’m not sure if it’s something I’m doing wrong or something on the teacher/TA’s part. Am I supposed to go somewhere else to turn it in, or should I just wait and see if the link on MyUCLA changes?

He made it very clear that he didn’t want anyone to come to him with questions about turnitin because he “doesn’t have the same MyUCLA account as we do” lol Also, there’s no discussion for this class so there’s no TA for me to ask either

Maybe you’re right about him not activating it yet though, I’m just kind of worried since there’s less than two weeks left before it’s due, and I would’ve thought it would be activated by now.

Dude, 2 weeks is so much time left. It’s like almost 20% of the whole quarter. Turnitin is very simple. You click on it from your Study List on MyUCLA. If that doesn’t work, it’s not your fault.

Do not turn in anything to TurnItIn.com they steal your copyright for your paper. If your instructor or school says to use it, OPT OUT immediately. To be safe, use the following disclaimer on all your papers. Preserve your copyrights. That system is a detriment to academia and your own safety. A teacher and author have written a series on this company and the way Academia is being influenced by their for profit endeavors. Consider reading the series and subsequent articles. They’ve found a lot of stuff and hopefully will bust this company wide open soon. Here’s the link.
