Hi, I don’t know if this is the proper forum for my question but…

Okay, so I really want to get to nationals for USNCO next year (I will be a sophomore next year). Last year, I took both biology and chemistry as a freshman, which is quite unusual. My school only allows 5 classes (it’s a competitive prep school) so I can’t double up on the sciences again as a sophomore if I plan to graduate high school:P Anyways, my options are: take AP Chemistry as a sophomore and take Accelerated Physics (introductory physics course, but it prepares you for AP physics B) as a junior or take physics next year and then take AP Chem as a junior. Normally, kids take bio, chem, physics and then take an ap course, but I’m considering switching the order. I have no previous experience with Physics whatsoever except a bit in middle school, but I doubt it’ll be that helpful. Does AP chem require any knowledge of physics?

I guess I’m also scared to take AP Chem because I’m afraid my grade won’t be as high…
I’m also afraid to ask my adviser because I’m afraid he might get mad at me. (he’s a nice person, but he might get annoyed that i’m asking to switch classes… idk:// what if i switch to ap chem but find it too hard for myself and end up asking him to switch me back to physics???)

Also, to do well on the USNCO (I know my chances are really low, but I want to make it into the top 20 really badly!) will it help a lot to have taken ap chem already? I’ve ordered the Atkins textbook and I’m willing to study hard on my own:)

Sorry for the bit of rambling, and thanks so much! Anyone with experience with USNCO will be appreciated! :D
