UT Austin 2011/12 Transfer Guide

Congrats Falcon! My decision from the COC feels so close.

Congrats falcon! Still waiting to hear from RTF!

congrats falcon ^_^

does anyone know if applying to CNS without calculus (although taking it in the summer) will alter the overall decision?

well it is on their website…

if you have calculus already done you will get priority over people without calculus done

I dunno if that means calc1 or both calc1 and 2

i got an A in calc 1 and i have calc2 in progress currently(spring 2012)

hopefully since i already finished calc 1 with an A i get a little bit of priority over people that havent finished it yet

I was accepted to CNS without calculus. I mentioned this somewhere in the thread not too long ago.

I think for engineering you have to have calculus 1 and 2 complete before applying, or being considered for admission. I’m not sure if there are exceptions to that rule.

I’m going to post my stats because I haven’t and I want to see what you lovelies think :)

GPA: 3.75
Hrs: 80+
Student Ambassador at current college
Worked with children on learning how to read
Plenty of volunteer work
Applied to RTF

There’s more but I do not want to burden.

umm… I think your gonna be okay
My stats aren’t nearly as impressive and i got in.

hm…i only have cal 1 done…im on course to make another A in cal2
i have a solid 96 right now…so unless i really screw up my finals i should finish with an A

i already have 39 credits that are transferrable(i actually have 46 but 7 arent transferrable)

i wonder how this will affect when I will hear back about biomedical engineering?

im already signed up for the summer to take differential equations, microecon, and literature at my community college. So if I were to send an updated transcript after spring is over it would say I have those in progress for the summer

Hey y’all,

Anyone know if transfers ever get admitted into Undergraduate Studies (2nd choice)?

^ I’ve heard of it once or twice

Oh, well if you’re taking differential equations next, then you must have a 2 part calc series. So ignore my previous statement. Some colleges and cc’s break it up into 3 parts, Calc I, II, and III, and in that case you have to have I and II complete before you can be accepted into engineering.

UT has made me so anxious over this haha I’m trying to keep myself checking at all this weekend. Any chance of them releasing acceptance during the weekend?

It happened not long ago, the Ester Sunday night

Remember, Nochicky, the system was down for a while during the day on Sunday? And then a few people received notifications later in the day. Hmmmmm…

Yes, I remember.
That’s why I check even more frequently on weekends.

@xig5591, thanks.

I applied to UT for fall 2012 and I still haven’t got a reply! I’m so nervous! I applied to UT COLA with a 3.5 gpa with 34 hours and by the end of this semester, I’ll have a 3.6. My essays were moderate good. I’m a member of Phi Theta Kappa and my resume was decent as well. I got 2 letters of recommendation from the ACC counselor and my algebra professor who also teaches at UT. What are my chances of getting in?

All I know about COLA is that people say a 3.5 is guaranteed acceptance. Just Hang in there… your stats look really good! :)

does anyone know how long does it take for a decision to be made after the status changes from “complete” to “in review” ?
