UT austin 2017/2018 Transfer Thread

@imgettingpsyched I applied for Psy BA. I have friend of mine also waiting to hear back for Psy BS

any of yall going to be at the june orientation ?

So if my audit said 44% is that good or bad? I’d never heard of the audit before. Also raibaby I signed a prelease at University Estates, they’re really good. A little far from campus but it has a shuttle. I’ll be in a 4/4 and it’ll be $651 a month for utilities and everything

I’m a psych ba applicant with 4.0 and 42 hours and i haven’t heard back either. I think it’s gpa and hours that determine priority

@utarts Everyone’s audit is different. Generally, the higher the percentage, the closer you are to completing your major with the considered coursework. Whether or not it’s good or bad depends on what kind of student you are/will be - like if you’re an incoming second or third year. If you still don’t know, an adviser can help with that. Remember, for most people, these are 4 year degrees!

Just ended with a 3.7 GPA trying for Aerospace Engineering from CAP T.T. PRAY FOR ME. IDK MY CHANCES

@spicytamale Computer Science

3.43 28 hours applying to Gov, crap ton of extra credit, and if u wanna see the rest go to my first post on this forum. I’m so freakin tired, physically, mentally, and emotionally. I’ll be praying for yalls sanity as well as my own as the process goes on. Peace out, I’m next in line at Wab.

Just got into SMU with the Business school, have also gotten into TCU with the Business school. Haven’t heard back from UT and am applying for communications because I dont have the prerequisites for business. haven’t heard back yet.

@kingsirry that’s what I thought. I have a 4.0 with 64 hours completed so I figured that applying for the BS might lengthen my waiting time since I hadn’t found out yet

I doubt it but colleges don’t take into account if you’ve been accepted to other colleges do they (sorry if this is a dumb question I know nothing about the admissions process)? I’ve gotten into all 4 other schools I applied to so I was hoping maybe that could give me a boost bc I am so desperate to get into UT

@utarts no, they have no clue where you applied to. Applying for admission process is completely confidential to other schools

Well it’s a new day, I hope that you hear back sometime today!

So y’all were saying that theyre only gon calculate the class gpa that is related to your course or they gon look at the entire thing

@Artix01 Your entire GPA. But if your applying to a major that requires certain skills to be more proficient, then they will look at those classes more heavily. For example, if you apply to Economics they’ll look more heavily at your grades in Calculus and Econ than your grades in English.

Did the people that got accepted get to see their financial aid as well?

Day in the life of an UT Austin Adcom

7:30am-8:00am: Wake up refreshed ready to take on all the rigors of their day. Have some breakfast, or maybe even a shot of vodka because they fell off the wagon again.

9:00am-10:00am: arrive to work late because Reddit had the fresh dank memes in morning.

10:00am-10:30am: The omelette from breakfast isn’t doing their stomach any favors. So they sit on the toilet while they skim through an excel sheet of transfer students. No better time to get work done

10:30am-11:30am: take a break.

11:30am-12:30pm: Gossip with the other adcoms about all drama and politics on campus.

12:30pm-2:30pm: browse Reddit.

2:30pm-3:00pm: Read personal statements filtered by 4.0gpa, +50 credit hours, +300 volunteer hours.

3:00pm-3:15pm. Prepare for daily meeting with the other adcoms. Get food, beverages, snacks, blind folds, darts, and dart boards.

3:15pm-4:00pm: Party while throwing darts at the dart board with the names of students with 4.0 GPAs randomly assorted on the board. Students who get their names hit get admitted.

4:00pm-4:30pm: Set up an automatic delayed admission for 7:05pm the next day for the students who got in through holistic darts.

4:30pm: leave early.

@rusalochkaa no, in my acceptance dashboard I was informed that I will be receiving my financial package in two weeks

anyone accepted or rejected so far today?

Nothing yet.
