Each year, the Office of Admissions faces the difficult task of selecting for admission a limited number of students from a pool of extremely qualified applicants. We use a holistic review process to examine the range of each applicant’s demonstrated abilities, achievements and interests. On average, about three times the number of students we can accommodate will apply.
Although we are not able to offer you admission this cycle, you are welcome to apply again in the future.

I’m done, folks. I’m still in freaking review and honestly, this is so insulting and humiliating of them to want me to keep up with my deadlines then go through a lot of stress while they chill and go beyond their deadlines. I don’t want to go there anymore. I’ll accept the admission offer from Stanford in a minute, and I’ll attend there even though I’ll have to suffer from student loans. It was a pleasure chatting with y’all here. Good luck to everybody!
@hookemmccombs My stats are bit difficult but I’ll try to explain haha. So UT sees my GPA as a 3.87. I would have a 4.0 GPA, but I took a dual credit class in 2014 that I made a C in. I talked to an admission counselor to see if the admissions would take into consideration that the only flaw on my transcript was from four years ago and he said “they look at positive trends” which I have.
Short answer: GPA: 3.87/ 2 good essays/ 3 LOR (including mccombs alum)/ finance internship/ decent amount of ECs

Congratulations to the ones that got into such a competitive school and those that got denied like me, I wish you guys the very best and just know that the brand name of a school doesn’t really matter once you start working if you are good at what you are doing.
@cercit20 My only option is to stay at Texas State. I really hate it here, still haven’t made any friends and find myself going to Austin most weekends to see my friends at UT. I also have nowhere to live as well, and don’t know how I am supposed to improve my application for next year.
