UT austin 2017/2018 Transfer Thread

See you guys Monday!

Hoooooooooyah!!!

Hooooooook 'em

HOOOOOOOYAH

HOO(trying to be optimistic but probally wont here till may)YAAH

Also why were people announcing acceptance on the weekends of last year (April 15-16)??

@jumpo69 they probably didn’t check their mystatus decision till the weekend.

@Thompson2688 Going an entire day without checking their mystatus? What is wrong with them?

@jumpo69 pfhhh ikr. It’s not like they have normal lives or anything…

Just wanted to say that this thread has double the pages the 2016/2017 thread had at this time last year.

yeah I know cs at ut is going to explode this year since it got voted number one in the country .

@utcshopeful holy cow… I knew the CS program was good but not THAT good, wow, just… wow!

Just a quick question I don’t know if this is true or not, but if we have above 30+ credits will UT look at our spring grades? Im applying to CNS for Comp Sci btw, because some people have told me if you have above 30 and have completed all the requirements they wont even take into account your Spring semester.

@CleanShoes No. UT reduced the amount of credits needed to transfer from 30, to 24. If you have below 24 credits they WILL look at your spring grades, but if you have more than 24, they will not look at them unless you are missing a required course that you are currently taking.

Ah thanks for the quick reply, good to know. I hope they release the decisions soon, around this time last year a lot of CS guys/gals had heard back by now, wonder whats taking them so long.

@CleanShoes It did take a bit longer for our applications to go into review this year, so that could explain why decisions may come out a week later than last years did (fingers crossed for this week). Also, maybe it’s taking longer because of all the people appealing their freshman admission decisions, making the admissions office extra busy

@CleanShoes Applications this year went into review about a week later than last year. Also I know they extended the application deadline for essays and letters of rec this year till March 10th, so I think they are a week behind all around.

I think we’ll hear back Monday. Past threads have heard back as late as the 18th. The only reason I can think of that might delay the decisions is that they dropped the hour requirements, so more people probably met the minimum. But I think the reason they release decisions mid April is because they want to know who will attend from the first wave by May 1.

Someone I know got into UT as a transfer. He already had this “Gone to Texas” banner. He’s a COFA applicant, I am sure.

@stoppingtheworld COFA always starts sending decisions earliest. About one week before the other colleges. So I think they are on schedule if we see some other colleges send the first wave of decisions out from tomorrow.
