UT takes long
and I feel like a fool.
If I’m denied
I’ll have one last shot.
To appeal with Spring grades,
as a last ditch effort,
because hell if they see my Spring grades and don’t let me in ima gonna have a mental break down because this is stressful af.
— A poe’m by a struggling college student. (p.s. wasn’t denied just trying to make light of how long we’ve been waiting).
I have a quick question, I am looking into transferring into ECON major at UT in Spring 2019. However, I am going to have 90+ college hours. I was wondering, how bad is that going to effect my acceptance. I will also have atleast 3.5+ gpa if I apply.
I was wondering if I could be added to the list?
My first choice major is biomedical engineering (second choice is mechanical engineering)
My GPA is a 3.912
I have completed about 40 hours I think and I’m currently taking 18 hours.
Do I have a good chance of getting in???
I’m really stressed about finding housing at my current university and (if I get accepted) finding housing in Austin.
Any recommendations on what I should do??
So you know how UT averages your scores for admissions? My chem class this semester is kicking my butt. So if I were to take it again after I transfer, would they still average my score form my spring semester transcript? Also, I heard that when you transfer, your GPA resets. Is that true?
@thetruespacejam if you have completed Calc 1 Calc 2 and Eng Physics and got an A in all of them, a 3.8 and above puts you in a good place for engineering. Having A’s in your other science classes is also a plus.
Taking engineering physics and cal 2 right now. I’ll easily end with an A in engineering physics but infinite series is killing me so I’ll probably end with a B in cal 2. Where does that put me?
@thetruespacejam
Since you’re taking pre-reqs this semester,
Your gpa will be readjusted accordingly after the end of this semester. Try and make an A in Calc 2 if you can
I’m a McCombs applicant and I haven’t heard yet. Obviously that’s not definite proof that this info isn’t reliable, but I’ve yet to hear from any McCombs applicants. Plus this would be very early compared to normal McCombs decisions.
there’s a UT reddit thread called 'Transfering student into McCombs"
I pmed the guy and he told me he heard back a few days which is odd, since i assume mccombs doesnt send back decisions until the earliest, may with most coming out at the same time that internal mccombs decisions come out
“Did you hear back already as an external transfer?” - me
“Yes I have”
If I don’t mind asking, when did you hear back? - me
“Just a couple days ago, there admission is so slow. I had a 3.9 gpa”
he stopped responding after that so
